Steam pressure bombs strip flesh and even metal off of things. You can lob a pressure tank at a city and get a good equivalent of a nuke if the pressure is high enough. Magical metals surely hold a lot of pressure. And magic surely allows for impressive compression only seen near the centres of stars. If you desire a war crime that would be my suggestion. Look up a steam eruption on youtube. Those things are scary. Old Lokomotives were impressive but essentially rolling bombs if handled wrong. Good chapter
