The officers in the precinct head over to Holt's house to celebrate his birthday, but they wind up making a poor impression on his husband Kevin.

Yeah Bones is based on Kathy Reichs novels which are based on her work in anthropology. Some good ones in that series.

2020-09-01 03:40:15 +0000 UTCThey probably consider it a Comedy and make sarcastic "jokes" about it, that's my take anyway.

2020-08-31 21:21:58 +0000 UTCI've watched these episodes multiple times, but a little callback I just cathed this time is: in Kevin's office at the university, you can see the portrait of Holt Amy had made done and that he took home for his husband, back in episode 4

2020-08-31 20:24:50 +0000 UTCI really like Kevin. He is different enough from Holt that they can be in a scene together and not feel like they are just the same character, but similar enough that the jokes land well for me. I liked they added more depth to his reason for not liking police by how they treated Holt badly over the years.

2020-08-31 19:22:12 +0000 UTCI don’t really think they write down in depth notes. It might be they just write down some keywords or phrases so they don’t want to forget to mention them later on in case they forget when they are done watching the episode. I think it depends on who wrote down what and depends on who remembers what. The notes could end up useless or maybe they refer to it again in the discussion about something they might have wanted to talk about. That could range from a silly joke they thought off and wanted to mention again or a certain plot point. Then I think it depends on the show they are watching. For this one I doubt they have many notes that are useful since it is pretty easy to follow and they remember most of it. On another show like Attack on Titan I have seen them look at their notebooks to discuss things after an episode. My guess is the notes are meant to be quick things so they don’t miss too much of the episode so they remember to talk about it later in case they forget so while it looks like they are writing down a lot or more in depth notes it is more quick scribbling they may or may not be useful.

2020-08-31 19:03:33 +0000 UTCNo I've been watching for a while. I just disagree, they're constantly forgetting things that happened a while ago in shows, and then when they look back at their notes they're not comprehensive enough for them to gleam an answer.

2020-08-31 17:48:10 +0000 UTCIs this your first time ever watching Blind Wave? Because they look at their notes A LOT! On top of that, they go back through their notes during episode discussions A LOT as well. They are extremely good about using those notes to drive their discussion topics and things that stood out to them. I think you might need to take a step back on this one because its definitely off base.

2020-08-31 17:16:34 +0000 UTCConfirmed. Aaron is a liability. We need to get Blind Wave to watch The Good Place ASAP

2020-08-31 17:06:24 +0000 UTCThey really don't look at them almost at all in the discussion either. Like I said in my first comment though is they may look at them more behind the scenes off camera.

2020-08-31 16:37:41 +0000 UTCI think the main point of the note taking is for the discussion of that episode so they make sure they hit all the points they want to hit. I might be wrong but they seem to use the notes way more for the discussion of the episode they just watched

2020-08-31 16:29:14 +0000 UTCIdk why ya'll are taking avid notes tbh. You rarely refer back to them in any series at least in any meaningful manner besides a single key word sometimes. Maybe they look at them more behind the scenes though, also for names and stuff it's helpful I guess. Even this episode Aaron was referring to a joke a couple eps back and Rick halfheartedly flipped through his notebook finding nothing. This not trying to knock/attack ya'll either btw I just don't think they really help all that much, on any of your series.

2020-08-31 14:10:54 +0000 UTCBones is actually based off a semi-autobigraphical novel series, but it is newer so it's not as "classic" as Holmes and the, probably, Poirot series on Masterpiece Mysteries. Bones was likely included because both Bones and Brooklyn-99 aired on FOX at the same time.
