I get why some commenters are upset or disappointed with the crew this episode. Without the benefit of hindsight, most of us were still able to piece together some fairly obvious theories and reveals from this episode on our first time around. And we watch the show for fun. In a rather literal sense, our boys watch this show and discuss it for fun, but are also paid to do so, which would - idk - further incentivize them to pay attention? Not to say they need to be perfect and on track all the time, and I do enjoy their genuine reactions and them not having read ahead, but... I mean, I get why OTHERS are upset. Hopefully things have sunk in for them by the next episode and they find their footing and enjoy the show even more in the future.

Sry but I wanna add on some things. My guess is why people react that way in the comments is because just like me people may be a little disappointed in your reaction and the discussion. We were expecting more from you guys. You keep asking for answers but in this episode you literally get some major answers (and yes even without hindsight you are able to figure some things out, maybe you can't figure it out fully but this is as much as you get in this show, you definitely can get way more out of this than what you have discussed is basically what I am trying to say, lol) TL;DR Kinda weak discussion/reaction to an important and beautiful episode, people expected more and therefore are disappointed. EDIT: and by weak discussion i mean that they didn't talk much about some key moments that occured during this episode, but it's alright I am gonna keep watching and enjoying obviously

If you want answers (and I am not only talking about the titan light) I suggest rewatching this episode, maybe even more than once. This episode actually gave me a LOT of answers or alteast very important hints that will help you solve the mystery. This is why I think this show is so fun, not only because of the action, but each reveal is another important piece of the puzzle that you have to put together in order to figure out the story. Anyway, I don't mean all this in a bad way, I am just simply recommending to rewatch this episode, it will help ;)

They were injected with something then when they hit the ground they transformed into Titans. They weren't thrown into a fire. I understand how it's hard to understand what the hell is going on in this show. They give very little answers in this season. Also Rick is right, it was just a random cult that adopted Ymir as their queen or whatever.

Rick was on point, Ymir was injected with something, and then pushed off the wall, next thing you knew there was a flash of light. This was one of those episodes where you should have been paying CLOSE attention, I reccomend rewatching it.

Not sure if you noticed yet but that's why TbcAlex usually posts the vimeo link in the comments here. Their website seems to have issues with the patreon syncing on and off since it became a thing. I've personally only run into this issue once and that was a while ago.
