Orb Ep 19

This is THE best episode of anime I have seen so far in my anime related media experiences.
Everything is clicking 100% for me. The dialogue in this was gold after gold and gold... Just wow. This was beyond good and far too much to even try to type. All of my thoughts are at the end of the episode. 100/10

Oh and since you wrapped up Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, Lazarus is a fantastic follow up. It’s set in the same universe as Cowboy Bebop, just like a hundred or so years earlier. It’s definitely the director’s most down to earth project, the animation is 🤌 so fucking smooth, and the soundtrack is the cleanest they’ve ever produced. I’ve been listening to Dark Will Fall on repeat for like a week now, it’s use in the anime is so so powerful and lives rent free in my head.

Finding morality is fine, but it’s important to keep wandering as a priority. If you aren’t flexible, if you aren’t amendable, you risk stagnation. That was my biggest takeaway when I first watched this episode. I’m right there with you. Vinland Saga feels like a spiritual journey for my inner child, whereas this story is a spiritual journey that reflects the maturity I’ve acquired. It’s so extremely satisfying to hear these foundational and fundamental ideas composed intricately throughout an interesting narrative and be able to relate to every thought process presented. It’s like eye candy for my sense of logic. I’m really interested to hear your thoughts on the final episodes, I have my own interpretation that I haven’t seen anywhere else online. Another dope reaction 🤙🏼

Read the manga! It’s a whole new experience when you are controlling the speed you absorb the media!

I admire the mangaka who crafted the characters such that even though all the interactions and their own ideologies are based on their experience and context , when we listen to them we resonate with each one of them in one way or the other despite our age groups or our experience or our own ideologies like badeni's point about reading/writing, oczy's point about accepting criticism, draka's point about convictions, schmidt's point about nature/beliefs and jolenta's point about freedom/authority. In a sense we are witnessing the miracle of writing as through this absolute masterpiece.

I think a lot of media these days is pretty self cannabalizing. Content machine and all that, things are made to be consumed, techniques are repeated and formulaic. Orb for me, gives value in how it challenges the viewer. Like you’re thinking of philosophy, watching really brutal torture, but also being reminded that writing words down is a miracle in and of itself. It’s like when you talk about passive listening vs active listening in regards to music. You just can’t passively watch a show like this, or at least I’d hope
