A nice bit of trivia: The funny moments like the one shown in the thumbnail, with Saitama's design being very basic and simplified, are the ones from the original work of the Manga's creator, ONE. Basically, OnePunch Man (and Mob Psycho as well) started as a web series and was drawn in this style originally by ONE, but OnePunch Man got so popular that it became serialised as manga published by Shonen Jump and the art was redone by legendary manga artist Murata Yusuke, with ONE being in charge of the story. The anime is based on the manga version of OPM, but the skits that are drawn like that basically pay homage to the author's original version of the series. That's why Mob Psycho's art style is so different as well, because it adheres more closely to the author's original work and drawings

2025-01-02 17:01:17 +0000 UTCOne of the most "wholesome ones" to watch is one that gives us the backstory for Saitama's super hero costume. OVAs are fine, overall, not as great as the main show episodes, but a good watch nonetheless.

2025-01-01 22:17:08 +0000 UTCAs we kind of learned from Episode 1, Saitama being able to find a fight where he doesn't instantly one shot a dude means more to him than the possibility of credit and recognition. He even had that dream where he managed a full fight and felt alive again. Granted, in one of the earlier episodes, he gave us the impression he wouldn't mind a fan club, but its not his highest priority. Part of the reason he joined the Hero Association in the first place was so people would at least recognize him as a hero instead of just some Caped Baldy running around. Also, your thumbnail (the image of Saitama saying "OK") while Boros unleashes his power is a bit of a meme.
