Steins;Gate Ep 11

HUGE!

Steins;Gate Ep 11

Comments

Tony has brought up Quantum Leap I don't know how many times and now he's getting spoiled with this anime introducing a "time leap" where you travel with your memories to your past self. It must be the will of Steins Gate

Nick K

I feel like the philosophy that "Creativity is born from contraints" has never been more true than for the writing and ideas in this anime. It seems like the writer must have put several self-imposing limits keeping him from going about time travel in a more conventional way and what was born from that were ideas more creative and unique than anything else I've seen on time travel in media.

Maybe the muscle memory is transferred in that data tho. I was going that it would be on my little example.

Oh, I want to make some comment about your speech around 6:22. When you said smth like "after studying 10 years drums, guitar... you just time leap at moment when you suck in school juzz-band and after couple of leaps you are kind of Mozart". Sorry for long read. Just shortly, I'm not doing music for my living (i'm doing some other stuff) but I had musical education at musical school which was parallel to my normal school and I studied piano. I still play it. Music has some good influence on your mental condition, I would say. So aprx. a month ago I finished learning one sweet piece and I imagine what if I send my current memories (when I already learned it entirely by heart, and can play it w/o sight-reading) back in time before I started parcticing it. Would I be able to reproduce the piece? I guess no. Because my physical condition doesnt allow to do it. I still need to spend whole month playing everyday, repeating small parts again and again, in order to train my muscle memory. Otherwise my fingers never gonna play it! Trick that my fingers, my physical body had naver played that exact piece, which mean - I cant escape practice. And more - training muscle memory of my fingers, in order to play it smoothly, with minimum mistakes - in the end of the day that means building some new neuron connections in my brain. Me from the past doesnt have those neuron connections (that is physical stuff in my brain) - so I wouldn't be able to perform this piece until I practice it enough time to build those neuron connections in my head. Yea, I would say that I would know MORE about theory - remember all keys of all scales, resolutions etc. But again in term of real live performance - I wouldn't be able to escape practice. So I would say, it would be torture to find yourself in situation, when you need to practice the whole piece agiain during whole month or even more (in my case it is month at least). These are so called my thoughts after your thoughts :) But that's an interesting point

When that bloody head message happened to me in the original game I literally lost sleep. It's the only text message in the game where Okarin puts the phone down immediately and deletes the message so you can't even recheck it. So fucking creepy.

OK, so as we already at ep 12, I just wanna say: Some folks complain about pacing, some may find ep 18 as "another ep out of context"... But! In my humble opinion, starting from ep 12 and straight till the end - EVERY episode is a fucking banger. One after another, non-stop just pure admiration for this show. Now I go and do my rewatch of this ep you just droped :)
