Vibe Check: Playing the Game
Added 2022-11-07 15:54:32 +0000 UTCHey guys, here we are with the second of the eight Vibe Checks I'm doing. If you didn't bother reading the previous one because PPNG doesn't interest you, I'm basically just checking in with you guys to make sure my current eight Patreon Exclusive Stories are to your satisfaction still.
That said, this Vibe Check will be a little different from the others, mainly because Playing the Game is already almost finished. I don't expect it to last more than 10 or so more chapters at most, and maybe even less than that.
Which means we need to discuss what comes next. I first started Playing the Game 3 and a half years ago, smack dab in the middle of the fateful Season 8 as it so happened. In the time since, I've enjoyed writing this fic, but at the same time... I've felt like I've lost a lot of its audience. Either that, or Game of Thrones has lost a lot of ITS audience in general.
I've heard House of the Dragon is pretty good, but haven't bothered watching it myself just yet. I'm not sure if I would write a fic situated in House of the Dragon with only one season out even if I had watched it.
That said, this poll is less about whether I should wrap PtG up or not (because I already am doing so) and more about what should come after PtG is done.
I do have one idea for another Game of Thrones fic. It would involve a Superman-in-Westeros sort of deal. Not literally Clark Kent in Westeros, but rather a superhuman baby falling from the sky and landing in a peasant's backyard. The story would then focus on this baby growing up as a Westerosi Peasant, albeit with some pretty abnormal powers. From there, things would happen as they tend to happen, with lots of sex and probably violence and all that normal Game of Thrones stuff.
That's just one idea, to be fair. Cannot confirm that it'll even be the idea I go with. And as always, I'm happy to take other suggestions.
But at the same time... maybe Game of Thrones has run its course? Maybe I should replace my Game of Thrones slot with another fandom altogether? That's what this poll is about.

Well keep an eye out because when I have you guys vote on what replaces Game of Thrones, I'm also going to still include it as one of the options. If no other setting can get more of the vote than Game of Thrones, I might still end up doing another GoT fic

2022-11-08 20:27:56 +0000 UTCThe thing about Star Trek is I don't think it has nearly the fandom that say, something like Star Wars has. Star Trek is very popular in its own way, but doesn't quite inspire fanfiction or a massive audience of readers to seek fanfiction of it out imo
