Hiring Colorist for MHFAP! Artists Wanted
Added 2019-04-07 18:30:26 +0000 UTCThis is a respost of a blog I did, posting it here so I can link everyone to it.
I've recently been working with a really talented artist to color some of my comic stuff but I want to know what else is out there and if there is a better deal to be found. I'm not 100% satisfied with how their coloring looks on my lineart and their computer can't handle my file sizes because I work in really big ones. I'm still going to try and work with them, and keep them around for other stuff so I can keep paying them.
I'm offering pay and/or potential art trades- I don't want to seem like a cheapskate but my budget is not all that huge right now. My pacing with the comic is terrible. I can sketch and lineart VERY fast but coloring's trickier and I'm ALWAYS self concious about it. But if I didn't have to color fucking everything then we'd be like on chapter 8 by now (and I'd be making way more from Patreon, too lol)
I also need someone I'm satisfied with and can trust to render my characters at the very least as good as I can- though hopefully better as I'm not a very good colorist to begin with haha. And of course, they need to be reasonably fast. There would be a LOT of pages stacking up.
One big thing I should mention is that FLAT COLORS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR YOU. This should make your job twice as fast so hopefully not as much pay should be required. My fiance does all the flat colors for the comic for me, so that part would stay the same.
Prerequisites-
1. Must work in Clip Studio Paint. There are a lot of CSP only features that I use that would get deleted if I converted it to a PSD. MIGHT make exceptions of course depending on how good you are lol, I can sacrifice some of the stuff if it means good coloring.
Things I'm Looking For-
1. Someone who is fast but also skilled. You'll be working with pages that look like this https://i.imgur.com/7G3sg7H.jpg (except flat colored). I need someone who can handle what I throw at them- backgrounds and multiple characters- without breaking a sweat. I get done a good number of pages a week when I'm doing them.
2. An Actual fan of the comic would be preferred. Like I won't care TOO much if they aren't a fan but I'd obviously rather work with someone who wants to help me for the sake of helping me alongside whatever benefits we discuss.
If any of this sounds interesting to you then please leave a comment, dm me somewhere, or just email me at mr.arrancar[at]live.com . I'll need to do some tests of course to make sure I even like how their colors look on my characters.
