Added 2023-04-08 19:00:03 +0000 UTCTed had always been very religious. He went every Sunday to church and often volunteered to help out. The only thing he struggled with was confession; he often had trouble thinking of anything sins he could even tell the priest.
Yet one day as he volunteered, Ted overheard a woman in confession, talking about how she made money by selling her body. He felt disgusted by such people. He knew he shouldn’t, but he couldn’t help it. Perhaps judging another person so could be what he would confess? But before he had the chance, he felt strange. The next thing he knew, he had swapped bodies with the woman in confession. If he had been disgusted before, this was now something else! He quickly tried to run to the priest for help.
The priest nodded, “This is your penance, Ted. You were so prideful thinking you hadn’t sinned. You need to learn to be humble and humility, like the woman whose body you now inhabit. And she could quite use a break by having your pious life for a while.”
“Did you do this to me?” Ted stammered, “Will I have to do the things she did? Make money the way she did?”
“That will be for you to figure out...”
