Anderson Station and "The Butcher" happened 11 years prior to the events of the show. Anderson Dawes is like 50-60 years old. He wasn't named after the massacre, he was named after Anderson-Hyosung corporation who own the station, in an attempt to curry favor with the ownership.

@Spartan The chamber you can't breathe ( haha :D ) called an airlock. It's basically a door to space. You enter on stationside, shut the door, and pump the air out into tanks. When that's done you can safely open the outer door and you will not lose the precious atmosphere. If you just open the door to space everything gets vacuumed out. This way you can safely go in at out. Judging by the size of that thing it looked like a cargo airlock so they probably dock a ship straight onto it or they attach it with a tunnel and move the cargo between the station and the ship.

Just joined your Patreon for The Expanse, so I'm a little late to your party here, but in case you haven't figured this out yet, Anderson Dawes, or his family, did not own Anderson Station. He was, however, named after it (a fact that's mentioned in the books, but not really in the show). The Anderson Station incident 11 years ago is considered, among Belters, one of the seminal events in their history of oppression by the "inners" (Earth & Mars). Dawes' parents named him Anderson in memory of Anderson station and the massacre that happened there. Dawes himself does care about the Belt and its people, but he is also a bit of an opportunist, and sometimes believes his own narrative a bit too much. He's, on balance, a good guy, but he's also manipulative and sometimes he can be full of shit. He's definitely a wild card in the system, unpredictable. Fred Johnson and Anderson Dawes sort of represent opposing ideas of what the OPA is and should be. Both can be ruthless, but Fred strives more for peaceful resolutions to the Belt's problems (probably in part because of the guilt he feels over the violence he was part of when he worked for the other side), whereas Dawes is not above violent revolution if it will achieve the ends he seeks. Miller's ex (and current police cohort) is named Octavia Muss. He calls her "Tavi."
