Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

We hope you enjoy the video!

The book authors were heavily involved with production and the scriptwriters right from the start, I think they took the opportunity to improve on what they had written.

i currently finish teh last books and while the books of course have cool stuff that didnt fit in the show just from time and had a few characters put together in 1 or others written out because of schedule of the actors etc, i truly have to say ... the show IS BETTER. like it feels improved especially in mixing of different things happening at the same time. like in the book you read A B C and in the show you see it all happening in real time it really is a big improvement especially for book 1. like they take stuff from later books we just hear about and SHOW it ... its one of the best book to show adaptaions i ever seen maybe close 2nd after "altered carbon"

I love the earlier comparison of Holden to Jon Snow. Lots of Snow energy & backstory with Holden in this episode too!

I really appreciate that yall catch on to things so quick, like realizing the spy on the ship is the one who was spying on them on Tycho. And is also hired by Avasarala. A lot of reactors miss that for some reason. Love the character development we get in this episode for Amos and Holden. That stand off scene with the guns when they were about to be boarded by the Martians is one of my favorite moments between them!!

Something worth noting about Earth is that more than half the population is on 'Basic' which means unemployed and recieving handouts from the government to survive because of lack of jobs and massive overpopulation. The way the OPA talks you'd assume Earth is a paradise, but most things would be compared to living conditions for poor or middle class belters.

Yep, exactly. This season is very good, but it's also setting the stage. The seasons that come after are phenomenal.

John Neiberger

I think the best way to describe the first season of The Expanse is that it's a prologue. You're introduced to the world and a few of the key players, but the actual story that follows is much more expansive.

Blasphemy!! They don't remember the full name of the Roci. Don't worry, season one is the world setter. You will soon start getting the bigger picture. Edit: Man do I love Jared Harris (Anderson Dawes), but for now at least my favorite is Shohreh Aghdashloo (Chrisjen) ... I didn't like her appearance in the series '24' but this role and so many others were a true joy. This one the most.

Hans Engelen

The Holden family situation is not something that is fully cleared. Neither in the show nor in the books. But basically the planet is overcrowded and land ownership is rare and more expensive. And there are tax incentives for having fewer children as opposed to more. And apparently 8 people having 1 child gives them a bigger tax break than 1 child per couple.

Donkey balls.
