2023-03-01 14:52:46 +0000 UTCi love the line "even though we crash down we gotta dance in the plane" ! this is how i see it, dancing in the rain is finding happiness when going through struggles that might be temporary. storms end and pain fades eventually. but for the meantime, you dance in the rain. beautiful, but a very common sentiment, right? dancing in the plane even though you're going to crash is slightly different to me. it's making the decision that even if something won't end well or will end soon in general, you'll enjoy the time you still have left. everyone will see their end one day, but if we refuse to dance while our plane is still in the air... life wouldn't be very much fun 😅 i interpret it as enjoying yourself even though you know something is going to end soon/one day. that could be a relationship, a career, or your whole life. in that way, it's kind of the opposite of the line before it. dance in the rain = enjoy yourself, because the rain (bad situation) will end soon dance in the plain = enjoy yourself, because this plane ride (good situation) will end soon

2022-12-12 12:30:08 +0000 UTCin moonchild when namjoon says "dance in the plane" he might be talking about the journey, not necessarily a plane but the journey of getting to where you want to be. since he said "even when we crash down" he could be talking about when we hit a low point in our lives. think about it as the hurricane you guys talked about and how you have to get through the hurricane. keep dancing and keep yourself up and keep pushing through that pain and the "crash of the plane" because eventually you'll get back up and start flying again. at least that's what i got from that line. i hope that made sense

You are right about one thing for sure: I saved the entire mixed tape and on rainy days especially, I put my headphones in, get in my bed with the door closed and listen and soak in all the meanings and vibes of Mono. Now I'm listening to Indigo following the same procedure and I can't get over how differently I feel but loving it all. RM is so masterful and amazing! I hope Indigo is next on your reactions list. 2022-12-12 04:13:46 +0000 UTCHi guys What you couldn’t quite put your finger on was referring back to your in depth reaction to “Blue and Grey “ , in particular the line in RM’s rap “I feel comfortable with the vast grey area” and the note which said it was a reference to “Forever Rain”. The following lines “When it rains, It’s my world and I dance upon this city “ caused Jared to comment about not wanting to see colours and wanting to experience rainy days when feeling depression. I hadn’t listened to Mono until now with both of you and I can fully appreciate the meaning, depth and beauty of RM’s lyrics and the flow of listening to it from track 1 through 7 as Hobi wanted Jack In The Box to be listened to. I was expecting a full on hard rap heavy mixtape, not the beautiful, melodic music and RM singing. I can see these songs expressing a time period when BTS was traveling, under tremendous pressure and attracting so much more attention. I can imagine it being a productive but lonely time writing for BTS while performing concerts, giving interviews, winning awards with every single moment of his life being filmed and put on full display. I imagine their were many nights spent trying to write his own music, in far away places sometimes wishing for a simpler time. He certainly expresses that sentiment being so critical of himself in his own expectations and from others. We are always harder on ourselves, our own worst critics. I hope you both take a little time to decompress after such a difficult week of attending the funeral of your dear family friend, another loss of one at a tender age and how you try to comprehend and grieve her passing. Be gentle with your hearts and know that you are both so loved. 🤗💜💜🙏🇨🇦

I think you guys should consider listening to always as a quick reaction, no need to dive deep. The song speaks for itself. He was in a bad place during his life. UhGood was his attempt I think to get past that time period and recover. Mono was his answer to the storm which was "Always".

I'd say Seoul and Moonchild songs I would always have on my playlist!🥰 P.s I personally take the "Dance in the plane" line as not literally dancing, but as Joon saying that we have to enjoy life even when we are going through the tough times. Can't wait for Indigo! Also remember that there's no rush to release reactions(BTS, movies etc), we'll be here and ready whenever you drop them. And of course, putting out excellence and quality even if it is a limited number of songs. This is why I love Namjoon so much, his songs are like reading a great book you can't put down, challenging me and provoking ideas and thoughts. "Everythinggoes" is and ending chapter to the MONO album like "No Looking Back" is the last chapter to the Indigo album. He likes to give closure. One of my favorite things about the entire album of Indigo is the thought connection in the songs and you can bet the listener(me) has had the same line of thinking too. It's personal. The song Wildflower circles back around after the picture turns upside down in the video but now you are thinking differently. It's not a sad song, it's a song that shows striving and then growth. To me, it shows that Namjoon finally gets life back in order and on track - now knowing how to cope with all the success and noise. At the end of the song, he sings the opening lyrics again while dancing in his fragrant field declaring remember... "All Those Times," this is where I go... laying in his peaceful field resting thriving, and flourishing, not conforming but remaining his own self... a wildflower. I'm laughing at the end of this video... you may not know it although I do believe he has gotten better, but he is a bit clumsy... the group calls him God of Destruction!!!. Wait till you listen to all the videos he made to explain INDIGO... so many. He started Wildflower back in 2016.

It's more music, you have seen 2 of them in the Busan concert but these performances, especially the grammys ones, are incredible. And it is less of a lyric dive just enjoy them on stage being BTS. You were even touched by the way he laugh. As a Poet, I was extremely moved by "Mono," it connected with me is sooo many ways. There were so many things that I've been going through mentally and "Mono" has guided me through it. I even wrote a poem inspired by R.M's Playlist. You can tell how each track is a part of R.M that's why he remembers where he was, his thoughts and actions while creating each one so vividly. 2022-12-12 00:07:50 +0000 UTCRM usually does one of these album talk-throughs for each of BTS albums, I think he started with the Wings album and went from there. Suga did similar talk-throughs of some of their very early albums - where he'd film just his hands flipping through the album jacket while he spoke. Suga has a very soothing voice, so sometimes he'd put me right to sleep lol. I don't think you were too metaphorical with Moonchild - as RM said at the beginning of the vlive, he prefers when art is left open to be interpreted. I think he just gave a very surface level description of Moonchild to preserve the deeper layer for additional interpretation, rather than intending for that surface level description to be the ONLY meaning. Y'all are going to love Indigo - but it's okay if you want to wait a little bit longer. RM has been releasing so much content around it, it'll probably take some time to figure out how you want to plan out your deep dive. I'm not even sure he's done releasing content... but definitely, when you DO get to it, an album listen, reading the lyrics, and then watching the "Magazine Film" would be a good structure and very similar to what you did here.

While they are inspired by many American/English-speaking artists, they are Korean and Korean music is a big part of their musical journey. You stop and play an English song during your reactions when one of their songs feels similar to it, so doing the same with songs BTS have explicitly stated inspired their work would be nice and eye-opening. It will let you both see what influenced the boys while also introducing you to other Korean artists. Love your reactions and can't wait for what you have in store next!

Our drinking water in Tucson comes from the Colorado River which is 345 miles away, it is fed thru viaducts across the desert !

The same is for Indigo. I can’t put into words what Joon’s music does for me just that I’ve never been comforted the way it comforts me. I can’t wait for you to listen to Indigo. I’m in love with it. It’s beautiful, raw, honest, unfiltered. He has so much range and versatility. He’s a musical genius and I never thought I could feel closer to Joon like how Mono makes me feel but with Indigo it’s on a different level. He let us all in on his diary. In some of the most crucial and uncertain ages of his life. I genuinely feel like we don’t deserve his unfiltered rawness sometimes which is why I’m so beyond grateful he shares it with us. It’s comforting. I hope he knows he’s far well achieved the timelessness he wants his music to have and much more than that.

2022-12-11 22:45:47 +0000 UTCi’m all for getting straight into indigo while all these thoughts on mono are fresh on your minds because i think it’s definitely some sort of continuation in terms of introspection. stylistically you are in for a ride; every track is so different! and obviously namjoon has progressed so far these years down the line since mono with his lyricism and production and flow and EVERYTHING!! but i do feel like the themes we’ve touched upon in here for example homesickness, and going through the storm to get passed, and the burden of fame etc are reoccurring in indigo. if you guys are in need of something lighthearted before hand though, maybe their most recent run ep? it for sure picked me up after a hard week!

It’s been consecutive music/lyric reactions the past few weeks (but not complaining tho I really enjoy them) but maybe some variety, maybe just a breather before digging into another album again. I’m just worried you get burnout cause you’ve been digging A LOT 😄 and it’s not easy. But I’m always ok with whatever you put out here. Indigo is amazing. ☺️💜

The man seriously leveled up…with production, melodically, with how he uses his voice, you name it. There’s a song for every type of feeling and emotion on there. I don’t know if I can pick a favorite, but I have to say, Wildflower did something to me. Watching the video, hearing the feature artist’s voice paired with RM’s, and reading his lyrics… so so so emotional!! That one will be on my playlist until the end of time for sure!!

2022-12-11 20:57:59 +0000 UTC2 hour reaction omg 😲 thank you! 💜 edit: Nell is an artist that I listened to for years before I knew who BTS was and just hearing RM talk about Nell being his superhero brought tears to my eyes. All those songs he named are some of my favs too but Nell's album called Separation Anxiety has to be my number 1. Mot was also an indie artist I listened to a lot so it was like seeing my two worlds colliding with Mono.
