Here are some of our takeaways (and favorite bars from each Cypher):
1. We don’t know whether today’s experience was a RAP FEAST, a FLOOD, or a BOUNDLESS OCEAN. 🤯🤯
2. RM, J-Hope and Suga are among the best rappers in the world. Their meticulous “sculpting” and cultivation of their lyrics blew us away.
3. Cypher Pt. 1 gave us that that OLD SCHOOL hip-hop vibe. It felt like a real cypher, whose lyrics took us for a spin:
- “Poppin’em, rockin’em, stoppin’em, blockin’em, like the Cassius’ lance.”
- “Now look at me and tell me, who are your top 5? Rap Monster, Randa, leader, RapMon, your daddy.”
- “The resolution of my pronunciation is 4K.”
4. Cypher Pt. 2 COMPLETELY DESTROYED US:
- “If you’re Pride, hey, I’m Chrysler.”
- “This is a kingdom, I’m a king, you’re dumb.”
- “Above a running man is a flying man, then a man who’s riding the flying man.”
- “The name of my charge is “assault with tongue.”
- “I draw the period onto the artery of your music career.”
5. Cypher Pt. 3 allowed us to RIDE the beat like a BIKER:
- “You’re a sewer, and I’m savory.”
- “I’m not Buddha, but I’m a butcher, shaving your flesh like a…” (WAS THIS LINE BUTCHERED!?)
- “My flow job that catches those arrogant, no-name rappers and trifles with them.”
6. Cypher Pt. 4 was an unexpected BOP that was dripping with SWAG:
- “SORRY BAE!”
- “I like hate comments better than no comments”
- “Click on it, I’m a cat and you’re all mice.”
- “I LOVE I LOVE I LOVE MYSELF!”

I am so honored that you thought so well of my comment. I messaged a bunch of my friends to tell them, "I'm kinda on YouTube." *squea* Lol. Thank you again. FYI- RM (and I think JHOPE) collect the KAWS & BE@RBRICK toys. In RUm's earlier VLives you can see a portion of his KAWS collection. I might be wrong, but I think JHOPE had a (maybe 4ft. tall) BE@RBRICK wooden figure in the background on one of his VLives. I can't imagine how much their collections are worth. I just saw a BE@RBRICK statue advertised on Black Friday Sale for $699.00. It was under 10 inches tall. That's more than my monthly rent. I think if you’re into the Cypher 4, you’ll probably lovvvve the tracks Home or Paradise. They are both OT7 songs, but they both have that rap/singing you guys like. Home, they perform all the time. Unfortunately there’s no live performance for Paradise. But every ARMY been dying to see one lol, great song.

Since these Cyphers are them responding to the hater or entering a battle field to fight the haters, almost like Catharsis to release their pent up feelings - RM being the leader leads them in to the battlefield, surprise attack cause the haters didn't think they would respond or fight that too in such a classy way (RM lyrical genius), Jhope, being the hope and the sunshine, keeps them energized and keeps up morale during the battle and finally Suga gives the final blow to end the battle, protecting them from the back silently but the most lethal, you don't see him coming like a cat. This is how ARMY tend to discuss their relationship in the group as well and how they contribute to this family.

You guys are insane, but hopefully you'll see how it was worth it, to see the narrative they embarked on from the first cypher to the last, their growth as not only rappers but as people! A few comments: 1. Highly recommended listening to j-hope's 1VERSE if you want more of its addictive swaggy flow, especially since it's a short one (as the title suggests it's literally only 1VERSE). It has some of the most out there and downright *disgusting* bars in BTS discography and might show a side of j-hope you haven't seen yet! 2. On the topic of j-hope, I saw you guys being confused with some of his bars and wanna offer my input as a korean learner. Hobi's verses are notoriously hard to translate since he's very unconventional with how he uses language. He often omits the subject of his sentences, flips words around, and deliberately misprounounces words for double entendres and internal rhyme schemes. Imo that's why his flows are so catchy and memorable in every song, he really goes all out with the rhyming scheme and sometimes that makes the verses difficult to understand for non Korean speakers! 3. If you want to enjoy how the rapline rhymes, take a look at doolset's coloured lyrics in the Korean section of the lyrics. They use different colours to show internal rhymes and end rhymes (I think it's green and orange but I'm not sure) Thanks so much again, can't wait for outro tear so you can get another taste of the rapline (not swaggy or aggressive, but emotional and heartbreaking) 💜

I think Hobi is flexing (majorly) here as KAWS & Bearbricks are not actual toys to be played with- they are pieces of art that are collectibles (and can get VERY VERY expensive. Both RM & JHope collect KAWS & Bearbricks. Hope actually owns three of the KAWS+Bearbrick collaboration bears totalling nearly $35K. But he has much more- his collection could be well over 100k easy! Oh also, KAWS is a renowned artist whose works travel the world and are shown at big international galleries- I had chance to see his work when it came to Melbourne. The Xs for the eyes in his works, I've always felt is like when in cartoon, characters die- they have Xs for eyes. So essentially, Hobi totures the haters with his rap and success.

That's one of the reasons why (Next to Cypher 3), part 4 is my favorite. I love the change in mindset to "We're so far above you, at this point we don't even care anymore and I'm not gonna waste my energy on being mad about you". It shows how much they have grown. And telling your haters that they should learn to love themselves so they don't have to push themselves up by belittling others... chef's kiss.

Also is much more mature, both in lyrics and production. My favorites in order are 3-4-2-1 (tho 4 and 2 are more of a tie). Now I think you guys are almost ready for OUTRO: Tear…eventually just dive in a little bit more in how was the group situation when they released it, ‘cause that song is drenched in pain and fear. You can't help but listen to the song even if you don't know Korean because it has a melodious sound. But once you (you as in those who had been hating on BTS) learned the lyrics, you didn't even know a blade had already struck you down and you are now a ghost lingering around the body of your prejudice. And basing from the definition of the word cypher, it solidified my theory since it is "a secret or disguised way of writing a code" ;)

The definition of cypher reminded me of Circle Room Cypher where ALL the BTS members were freestyling looool. It’s in the 2cool4skool album. It’s fun so maybe check it out wherever if it’s something u wanna see :) Oh! And Yoongi’s verse in Cypher 3 reminds me a lot of his mixtapes. He loves to use the terms ‘sending to Hong Kong’ or using tongue technology with the double entendre in his songs like ‘Agust D’. It’s the TT of his first Mixtape. Anyway I’m off to catch the other vid. Hope u had a good night sleep after these looong hours of bars getting drilled into ur head lol

2022-11-23 05:57:26 +0000 UTCrm's verse in cypher pt. 3 has a lil onomatoepia. for example, when he said play the beat backwards, the beat literally played backward. when he said everyone raps the same like they're critical patients, he stumbled on his delivery... ahh the brilliance of rm. my favorite bts cypher if strictly cypher speaking is pt. 2. sonically and with a mix of lyricism, my fave is pt. 3, and cypher pt. 4 is more of an anthem -- and a good wrap-up to the bts cyphers... from speaking about their entrance to the music industry to dissing haters and "killing" them (cyphers' 1-3) and then finally, to understanding that the core message has always been "i love myself" (cypher pt. 4) -- that confidence which comes from understanding who they are and not being gravely affected by the haters. it's like them saying, "i've achieved this while you were busy hating. i was once angry for your hate towards us but now, nah... we're good... we'll just slap you with how far we've come 'cos we work hard and we are on a journey of knowing and loving ourselves." so cypher pt. 4 arguably not being the "hardest" cypher is the most profound and a showcase of maturity from the bts rapline. hence, the fandom loves it. 💜 add-on: i love how j-hope's final words in cypher pt. 4 is actually "fuck you" lol he told us to lean in and listen but many miss out on it hahahaha

Seriously guys this was such an awesome Tuesday night because of your videos!! Jordan you almost made me cry when you spoke about how music that is so good will almost never make it to you because of boundaries etc. I feel that here in the US, most of the industry and radio listeners were only exposed to BTS after their English songs came out. Yet their Korean songs are the most beautifully created, sung, written, produced and performed and will probably never reach the majority of listeners simply for the fact that they're not in English. 2022-11-23 05:05:16 +0000 UTCPersonally I think the reason they aways put Suga at the end is cuz, I had a Korean Army friend of mine tell me once that Suga's rapping is a lot like a machine gun going off, he's precise with his shots and doesn't mince words, and never bothers to sugarcoat. She calls his rapping "raw and painfully to the point", which is why I think BTS like putting him at the end. He's a great closer.

In the 4th cypher you can hear SUGA starting his verse with « back back to the basic microphone check call me BAEPSAE (try hard) » this is a reference to this song.
