Today’s episode was an absolute joy to watch…though we were a bit caught off guard by Coolio’s direct (and seemingly demeaning) attitude/interaction with BTS. Did any of you also feel offput by this?
Nonetheless, seeing each of the members traverse the streets of Los Angeles—on their own—and embrace instruction from American artists, was special. INSANE to think that it has already been an entire year since their debut. In the words of RM:

Here are a few of our takeaways from Chapter 5:
1. Did Coolio think this was an episode of “Beyond Scared Straight”? 😂
2. There is no monopoly on Hip-Hop.
3. Iris Stevenson is our spirit animal. Her graciousness and pure-hearted nature was infectious. And her comment about V’s singing made us smile: “It’s soulful. People feel something when you sing!”
4. Watching Jin, J-Hope and Faahz (Beatboxing Instructor) use their voices to impersonate dogs was HILARIOUS.
5. Don’t be fooled…no matter where in the world BTS finds themselves, they are NOT on vacation. They are WORKING to perfect their crafts, and exhausting their bodies and minds in the process.
6. Humility, courage, and perseverance…BTS.

Hi guys, I’m a new patron though I’ve been watching you for a while on YT. I started going through your videos from when you started until this point and I really appreciate the time you take discussing every video. In case you didn’t look it up, Iris Stevenson was the person Whoopi Goldberg’s character was loosely based on for “Sister Act 2.” Her students at Crenshaw High School sang for a couple of presidents too. 2023-06-25 06:35:27 +0000 UTCYeah. as Much as the show might have been a good learning experience for the boys, American Hustle life was cringe and honestly the first episode alone made me hate the entirety of the reality show. They treated the boys unfairly and probably traumatized them. It certainly would have me. I was not at all impressed. Not with the boys but with Bang PD, Coolio. And any involved in that series.

2022-11-12 17:28:58 +0000 UTCAmerican hustle life was definitely a rough ride for me personally. Just based on the way black people were portrayed and hip hop were portrayed. The first two episodes of AHL were definitely the toughest and they rub lots of armys the wrong way just how they were treated. After that it gets much better and there were very good lessons the boys learned and benefited from. They also created great bonds during this time so overall it was a good experience. And they did learn a lot about hiphop and working hard towards a common goal. They did grow during this and although it was harsh it was something they learned from. So if you can get past the first two episodes (you still should watch them) then ahl is a breeze after that. Cringey at times but never a full moment.
