MKM - alpha 0.1k

This release contains the first stage of the monster city. The entrance is past the hill boss stage (will have a better transition in the future) and you can copy the save folder of previous versions called "UserData" and paste into the new version folder.

I've been testing some new things in terms of stage creation, such as using tilesets for the background parallax effect (where before I've used whole images) and how to better apply the contrast between tiles colors to differentiate between the planes where the player can walk (i.e. collision) and the foreground and background planes, such as the back walls and houses.

But also in terms of the gameplay design, I've hid 4 power-ups (+life, +mana, +atack and +defense) throughout the stage to test and see if I'm being successful in giving enough layout hints to players in order not only to encourage exploration, but also to indicate new pathways and where to go to progress.

So there's sort of a mini challenge to grab all the 4 powerups and I would really appreciate your feedback on if it was easy/hard to figure them out, and if the layout or how I set them up was intuitive for players.

Now for the coming month of June, I'll focus solely on creating the new enemies and their ero animations. There are going to be 2 which will be male humanoids and I also the wolf girl (vore scene, winner of poll #6).

For the 2 beast-men I've been toying around with the idea of having some type of gangbang mechanic where they can have a scene with Maya solo or if 2 of them grab her at the same time, then the animation changes to a spitroast position or something similar to that. Since thematically they are going to be sort of guardsmen of the city, it ties in that they are buddies and would share a treat.

The idea is that those particular enemies would have dynamic animations where their position in the animations are interchangeable. This is a different logic in terms of coding compared to what I'm already doing for ero scenes, so the idea isn't set in stone yet and right now I'll start testing to see if is possible to do without having to change too much of the underlying structure. In short, if it is something that is practical to do then I'll go forward with it, otherwise I'll just continue to go with my usual approach.

I think that might just be there to block the player off and keep them on the path forward.

Sorry I already figured out how to do the right side I'm talking about how to unlock the gate on the left or has that area not been added yet

Hi! In the underground section, there is a big chamber with 2 levers. First you have to navigate that area and go to the right side where you can reach the 1st lever and activate it. This will lower a gate on the left side of the chamber, which will allow you to jump from that side and reach the 2nd lever. Pull that one and the gate blocking the passage to the right tunnel will open and you can proceed.

And how do we open the second gate underground

I'm currently stuck at after you enter the underground part in the city where are we meant to go after that?

Are there any debug commands?

Great, thx....

That would indeed be nice to have more enemies gang up! For now I'll see how it works for the city enemies, and if it become manageable to implement I'll consider the previous enemies as well.

After that save point keep going right, and when you come upon a dead-end, you can actually use the dash+jump to reach the 1 square platform jutting out of the house to the left. From that you can jump on the small wood platform on the middle then jump again on the roofs to the right to proceed. Also yep, more micro/macro stuff will come eventually!

Mega Blue Ball

Aye, for the next update I'll implement the teleportation system. Once Maya acquires a special item, she will be able to TP between the save points that she visited allowing fast travel.

Thanks for the writeup! Roger on all points, the spirit upgrade is sorta of just there indeed. I'll rethink its placement. PS: lol at the chocolate milk! Yep that's totally not a sewer no way, its uh... a chocolate factory and you can stumble upon Willy Wonka down there!

I couldn't find my way out after I safe the game on that red statue, in the City. Also I want it to know If you are going to add more shrinking stuff, I like what you are doing, but I like that in particular... Great game

I for one think enemies joining in/sharing the protagonist is the bestest feature in any Adult game, Please implement that! I of course hope you can reuse the feature for the previous enemies aswell ;D

The game map is getting pretty large, good stuff! Do you think you could put in some sort of fast travel between areas, maybe on the save points?

Okay, so firstly, whoa this level was much longer than I thought it was gonna be. Not complaining here, just pleasantly surprised. Though I guess when I think about it, a city should be pretty big. Anyway, onto those powerups. I did manage to find them all. The attack and defense ones were pretty straightforward. You see them while making your way through the level, and it makes you want to try to find a way to get there. I really liked how the health one was done. At first, I wondered what the lever was for on the house, but then after I saw a similar one open a door a bit later, I went back and combed the area where the first one was and I managed to find the hiding spot. As for the spirit one....um, well that was the last one I found and the one I looked for the longest. I practically stumbled upon it when I caught a glance of it above the moving platform switch. Maybe I just don't see it, but I didn't notice anything that would have prompted me to check above that area. I mean aside from the last resort of checking every possible place you can get to. I honestly thought it would have been in the underground area. I saw two small platforms where the, uh, chocolate milk(yes that's what it is) was falling down. I couldn't get to the second one, so I thought there was some way to get to it that would lead to the last powerup. I guess I got lucky that I found the spirit one before spending a whole lot of time underground. I also thought that in that area, there was gonna be a powerup in the unreachable passage between the two switches. Anyway, the other powerups were good and nice to find, but I think the location of the spirit one could benefit from some work.
