Yes. This would be the last one. But it is not anymore.
Obviously the twin piece to Davo's after he finally finished doing his "hair" and a sleepy Tony can go in and get ready.
I didn't originally plan it for this but I had the picture of a bird character "brushing their beak" in mind for a long time. And it is obviously a silly idea so I knew it would be perfect for Tony.
Actually I also thought about having Zara brushing her beak and Tony flossing it because that's even sillier, but at the end I gave flossing to Diana because it worked better with her species.
The background is, of course, the same from Davo's piece but a little bit more to the left, Which makes Davo's one a little bit more funny because it reveals that Davo has his own shelves for his hair products.
The idea of moving the background is to give Davo and Tony's piece a sense of symmetry. In one the mirror is to the left and in the other to the right.
Diana and Zara's pieces also have this symmetry but in a simpler way, as their mirror is wide I just had to move them around. Zara to the right and Diana to the left. And of course I'm spoiling it from now but Lil's and RJ's pieces also have a sense of symmetry.
Another detail I could mention about the background is the cracks in the wall. They appear not only here but in a lot of my work. It's inspired by the cracks you could often see in buildings around my town after the 2017 México earthquake. I add them to the walls in my art often to make the walls feel less like empty spaces in the composition but also because I feel it gives the backgrounds a sense of history and lived-inness. I often feel like whatever town my characters live in suffered a similar earthquake or something like that.
A final detail that separates this one from the others is that this one happens to have an extra alt version. When designing Tony's clothes for this I decided one should be a t-shirt with a dumb stamp on it. So I first did a picture of Snoopy as "Joe Joe Cool" doing a JoJo pose and with one of the famous Jojo's Bizarre adventure' onomatopoeias behind him.
But after that I felt it was a little bit derivative so I did a new design of a cool looking dog posing in front of an upbeat lettering that reads "Clinical Depression". I messed up the lettering a bit in the end and it kind of reads "Liminal Depression" Which is kind of Better honestly.
But in the end I rendered both as I had completed them already so what the hell?
