And it is done. Here's an animation I started working on last March between commissions. Which explains why it took me so long to finish. But I've actually been thinking about this idea for a long time.

Just the band taking a day off after a concert They gave out of town. That's at least what I think it's going on. Zara finally made up her mind and Diana and Lil are teaching her the fundamentals while Tony and Davo are having a showdown to prove once and for all who is the champion of the band. (It's Tony btw) and RJ it's waiting for his turn to play with the winner and taking the occasional nap because it results that driving a band all night long makes you kind of sleepy. Unfortunately some people can't have the night off today and are out there working.

A Year ago in twitter I did one of those, "ask me about my ocs" posts, and when asked if someone in the band played a secondary instrument I mentioned that Zara wanted to learn to play something but she wasn't sure what. Since then I already had this in mind. A picture of Diana and Lil teaching her to play the guitar. I did try to make it a number of times but it just didn't feel right. Then at some point I thought it would work as an animation and it just clicked. So I started working on it as a sort of sequel of my 420 piece of last year, even if not of the same theme.

In the process it got combined with another idea I had of Tony and Davo playing video games with the rest of the band. And then the whisperers made a cameo.

As for them, they're chasing after a ghost that's trying to form a cult around him. Luckily for us they bumped into him during the "giving out flyers at the train station corner" phase of his master plan.

The Whisperers and the Worn Down Children are close to actually meeting one of these days I swear. But in the meanwhile here's this.

Another thing about this piece is that I remade Davo's and Tony's department. It had appeared in some comics before but I didn't really have the whole thing planned out. It usually appeared more empty Which was a bit on purpose actually, but now you can see more stuff they own like their instruments of course, their record collection, an old small painting Tak gave Tony once and he had framed because "I don't know man, I just think it's cool" and a Street sign that was knocked over by a truck and was picked up by Davo and hanged in the wall because " I don't know man, I just think is cool" that also features the Yes Coyote symbol that I often put everywhere, one of those japanese trick boxes that no one in the band has been able to open and of course, "the chair".

The working title for this piece was “Sound observations” which is usually the working title for a lot of my stuff. I think that song and my art tend to vibe at the same frequency. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7r102Ie_Nk

It was the song I was considering using in the background originally but to not mess up with copyright as usual I decided to lookfor something else: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8Ho-yDoO-I&t=66s

As for the music I sampled to edit the videogame sound in the background is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naV46yL8YDw

And most of the sounds I used to do the editing here were provided by the following users of the page https://freesound.org/, which is an amazing resource I’ve used on former projects:

One can dream Lol. Thank you

This gives me Night in the Woods vibes. Almost looks like it could be a successful TV show.

nerocatto

Yeah, that part wasn't actually part of the original plan but it sort of just happened lol. ^^

Juan Daniel Campos Hernandez

Yeah, but at least it kept me distracted for a while lol. ^^

Thank You! ^^

I wasn't expecting the Tony & Davo gaming WIP to be part of an animation this big/detailed! WDC wholesome slice of life content is always wonderful to see, and my favorite part is of course RJ giving Zara encouraging smiles despite her failed attempts waking him up and her going from looking embarrassed to smiling back at him. ^.^

Oh I just absolutely love this! Little slice of life stuff with the band, awesome work! And I can imagine how long this took, that's a lot of frames!

Atlas

This was so cool :D! Every tiny detail is just awesome, man! You truly outdid yourself this time! 10/10 :3
