Interaction Video
Added 2023-10-09 15:38:23 +0000 UTCSo I got around to recording a video of some of the different aspects of the interaction and event systems. Please excuse the occasional missing name or stray interaction point - naturally those won't exist in the final product :P The video quality is far from ideal, however my development rig struggled to record at a decent frame rate while running the game at 60fps, and I really don't have the time at the moment to mess about tweaking settings.
I also tacked on the Jane induction, just so that you would be able to see how the system works in relation to the hypnosis - I'm looking to have the "hypnosis events" flow as part of the game mechanics, rather than being static one-off sequences. There will naturally be some more cinematic scenes for the main character storylines, but for the most part I'm looking to eventually have the capability to add hypnosis events to any part of the environment, and will slowly add the events over the course of the game development. This will be quite evident once I start work on the town/city environments ^_^
I've included some lower quality "mob" characters, with the intention being that they'll slowly be replaced with a growing number of side characters as the number of hypnosis events increases. My ultimate aim is to have a somewhat "open world" environment, where after all of the main character storylines have been completed I'm able to flesh out the game world with a series of mini-stories.
I'm also reviewing induction and fractionation techniques, as well as possible "props", ready for creating the hand and character animations. Reflective objects such as coins and crystals, and light sources such as lighters and penlights will make an appearance, but any suggestions on others would be greatly appreciated ^_^ rapid induction techniques such as "butterfly" and "hand drop" are already planned, but again, any suggestions are more than welcome.
Anyway, I likely won't be posting again now until the prologue release, since I want to spend all available time getting the release as close to my ideal vision as possible. Much of the initial game mechanics required have now been completed, so it's pretty much a case of getting all the scripting and content done. I really want to add another two scenes for the prologue (house and some of the local town), so how long it takes will depend purely on how quickly I can create those assets.
I have a rough estimate of about two weeks until release, provided nothing untoward happens during development. I'll also be trying to take it easy for the next couple of days, since I've been working pretty much flat out for the past month O_O wish me luck in not caving after about 4 hours and returning to work on the game anyway :D
Anyway, video links!

2023-10-24 10:23:13 +0000 UTCIt's difficult to give a reasonable estimate until I've finished fixing the geometry, which is looking like at least another days worth of effort. I'll try and find the time at some point to post a more detailed update.

2023-10-24 08:01:41 +0000 UTCGiven the trouble, is it possible to give a new estimation day of when it is released or not? Sounds like you had to take another alternative way for the geometry stuff o_o

2023-10-24 06:04:45 +0000 UTCYes and no :/ to cut a long story short, the unity lightmapper is useless at mapping modular meshes, and so I'm having to run through all the geometry and combine and fix the UV/UV2. The PSU for my main dev rig also went bang last week, which also hasn't helped. I am making progress, it's just taking a bit longer than I'd have liked.

2023-10-23 21:46:14 +0000 UTCThanks for the feedback ^_^ I'm actually hoping to have the quality much higher before release - there are still plenty of things that I'm looking to improve upon before release. Regarding inductions, I want to ensure that the hypnosis plays a central part in the plot, so I'm trying my best to avoid gimmicky props that detract from the hypnosis. There will be props that are slightly "unconventional", however that's to assist in the pacing more than anything (real-life hypnosis isn't mind control after all). I'm still working out whether to include game-over scenarios where the hypnosis doesn't quite work as expected :P I intend to include erotic scenes (including sex scenes) later in character storylines - my blender skills aren't fantastic, but I actually spent about 3 hours the other day modelling a vagina (along with the relevant shape keys). There will certainly be erotic content ^_^

2023-10-09 18:10:13 +0000 UTCFirst off, this does look damn good and impressive! If the actual game has the same quality as shown and the things/features you described, you can already count me a big fan, im really hyped to play the first version :D And im really glad you went with actual hypnosis techniques like "hand drop" and so on and not "i found a magic hypnosis book/app and now you are hypnotized" :) Furthermore, will this game have erotic and sex scenes (which i would appreciate :p ) or is this an u18 game? :)
