Shame he seems to have missed the line about buffy escaping paradise, or that the powers that be sent darla to try and stop connor.

2025-10-25 17:37:59 +0000 UTCI loved seeing Julie Benz back! She’s just so incredible as Darla and the “you are not my mother” stung a long. The manipulation to Connor was so difficult to watch. Just when we think there is a chance something goes wrong.

2025-10-18 16:31:56 +0000 UTCIt's interesting that this is your take because from what I've read it was Joss who was irritated (i've not heard of other producers being named) because he felt as though Charisma didn't brief him in a timely manner. Bc he had already broke the story for season 4 and how her ascension would lead to her being the big bag, but her being preg made it difficult for it to play out like he imagined, so they reconfigured the intended storyline to accommodate a pregnancy. Either way, the basic story beats were the same, and this was more or less the the conclusion of her ascension storyline, but with a pregnancy and an actress insert to give Charisma time off. Not that I agree with Joss being irritated, just saying it as i've understood it over the last 20 years.

The reason Cordy went on vacation with Grusolog a season or so ago was cause she was prego in real life. Then her and producers had … let’s just say issues … then she got prego again and irritated the producers so the wrote it into the story this season and used it as a way to do what they do after this season. The actress for the “Child” was Gina Torres. She was a main character in Firefly/Serenity, which had been canceled just before the final run of this season, so Joss pulled a few actors from there as big guest spots for Buffy/Angel Fun idea, though never confirmed…how do we know Darla wasn’t the First trying to stop additional evil competition from coming into play with its plans?
