Easy to miss but there are 2 Buffy alumni in these eps: the soap opera actor who asks about Charlie is played by Percy, he who called Willow a nerd, and the boring professor is Principal Flutie, RIP 😅

I can't believe you're about to finish the show either! I found you on YT and then on here through your Friends reactions. It feels like yesterday but also a long time ago. Weird.
As for taking stuff from a hotel the way Ross and Chandler are doing it, I don't know the exact legalities surrounding it. I took a few dishes, glasses, knives/forks and other kitchen items from a hotel I was basically living at a few years ago (long story), but in my defense the hotel was shutting down due to Covid and the fact there were no tourists. I didn't really have any household items because I was practially kicked out of my house and all my stuff/furniture is in storage somewhere, which is why I was at the hotel (again, long story).
Anyway, I liked Joey and Rachel's dynamic in S8 but I didn't like this at all. It seems so random and out of place. It would have made more sense if she had reciprocated his feelings back in S8. They had a lot more sexual tension then.
Fun facts: There are two great guest stars in E20. Charlie is played by Aisha Tyler who is known for Criminal Midns, Archer (voicing), CSI, Ghost Whisperer, 24, The Santa Clause 2 & 3. She was also a co-host on The Talk, hosted Talk Soup and since 2013 she has hosted Whose Line Is It Anyway?. The Woman in the play is played by the great Alex Borstein who voices a character in Family Guy, played various characters on the sketch comedy series MADtv, was in the TV shows The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel & Getting On and the movies The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Catwoman (with Halle Berry), Ted and Love The Coopers.
In E20 when Joey is going through Rachel's list of men's phone numbers, he says "This guy is in a cult. It will cost you $5000 to get to level 3 and I don't feel any different". This could be a reference to the "Church" of Scientology, which many people believe to be a cult. Members are expected to pay large sums of money to ascend through levels. Various celebrities, such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta, are members (and Giovanni Ribisi who plays Frank Jr.).
The script Rachel is holding while reading lines with Joey in E19 is the actual script for the episode. If you pause and look really closely at the top of the page, you can see the title "The One With Rachel's dream" and the dialogue "Joey as Drake".
4 actual Days of Our Lives stars who were on the show at the time had cameos at the party as themselves: Kyle Lowder who played Brady Black from 2000-2005, Matthew Ashford who played Jack Deveraux from 1987-2012, Farrah Fath who played Mimi Lockhart from 1999-2007 and Alexis Thorpe who played Cassie Brady from 2002-2005 (the last two were in the background).
In E20, the hilarious laughter when Joey opens his robe is because in the blooper for this scene Matt stuck a picture of David on his boxer shorts 😂 I would post a link but I can't find it in a separate video rather than the whole season so it's better to watch after the season is over to avoid spoilers.
The café that Ross is having lunch with Charlie and the other professor is the same cafe set from that was used in 9x11 in the scene Phoebe is an extra on Days of Our Lives.
In E19, the hotel room Chandler and Ross are staying in was Carol's and Susan's old apartment.
Rachel walking in on Joey with the pineapple is similar to 1x15 when Chandler walked in on Ross trying to talk dirty to Joey.
This is the second time Ross takes stuff from a hotel as a method of "refund". The first time it was shown was in 8x02.
Goofs/continuity/character errors: In E19, Monica says that her restaurant is booked out months in advance. Later, when Phoebe is busking outside the restaurant, there's a line of people waiting to get in. If it were fully booked, there would be no point waiting in a queue.
Interestingly enough in E20, Joey is pretty good at lying and it is said that he even lied to the other 5 friends a couple of times before. This is the exact opposite of what was stated in 9x08.
When Rachel has her dream about Joey, she says "Well, that's new." But back in 1x22 she had sex dreams about all of the guys, including Joey.
Joey says he's never been in love with anyone before aside from Rachel but he claimed to be in love with his co-star Kate from the play in S3.
When Chandler asks Monica about her first period, she says she got it when she was 13 and then says it was very difficult. But if you look at her lips, she is mouthing something else.
Newcastle disease actually can infect humans with mild flu-like symptoms or conjunctivitis (an infection of the eye that is also called pink eye) and/or laryngitis (an irritation and swelling of the voice box and the area around it).

It’s not just the fans who were put off by any Joey and Rachel storyline when he first fell in love with her, but the actors themselves weren’t fans of the idea.
Considering Jennifer’s dad was on Days of Our Lives for 40 years since the early 80’s, I think it would have been hilarious if he was on episode 19 backstage or at the party and Rachel recognized him and did something really embarrassing or spilled something on him etc. Something similar to when her real life Husband Brad Pitt guest starred, but couldn’t stand her.

It is alot, I agree. And the first 5 seasons would be great. I also think if you watch the first 5 seasons, that's enough to be able to see specific episodes of the later seasons too. I think you have enough info on the story/characters to be able to watch later episodes without having to watch full seasons after season 5. Just my opinion

I have felt the same way about the Joey and Rachel storyline for YEARS but for some reason, during today's watch, it hit different and I was into it. 😆

Great reaction Nick!
The volume was a little low and it was difficult to hear the episode. Not sure if it was like that for anyone else, could be on my end!

Supernatural is my favourite show but 300+ episodes ?! A bit too much I think isn't it ? Or just the 1st 5 seasons of the show ? But yeah, that would be awesome !

Yet another small commonality between Ross and Rachel is that they both find the chopsticks bit funny. I just find it so interesting that there are these small details snuck into episodes that show how similar they are.
As for Rachel and Joey this is when I started to find it ridiculous and kind of knew that the writers were struggling to come up with storylines. The one thing I will say is that Jenifer does a fantastic job at making it clear that Rachel is infatuated with Joey so that at least makes it a little more tolerable but this rehash is by far the worst thing that the show ever did and I'm sure I'm not alone in that opinion.

Rachel's having a crush on Joey, not just Drake, but I've definitely been sure at least after watching two different movie that I was attracted to the charactor, not the actor. The actors looked fine, but it was the amazing things they did, protecting their families/girlfriends that had me head over heels. I knew it's the character I'm attracted to. Monica is kinda right, she and Chandler were lucky, and they both didn't really plan the hook up.
After Friends, I vote for How I Met Your Mother(a pretty high quality Friends ripoff) and no-laugh track sitcoms Ted Lasso and The Good Place.

Not sure if you have mentioned these before or have already watched them. Have you thought about reacting to Charmed, Smallville or Supernatural when Friends finishes?
