Grisha's voice actor Hiroshi Tsuchida and this episode is why I insist people watch Attack on Titan in Japanese first viewing. In fact, all his episodes. This one here was emotional beyond belief, heartbreaking. Give him all the anime Oscars. But there is a lot of great work and effort from all the other actors that goes into the production, you truly gotta admire it.

For me episodes 78-79 are the best episodes of the show, by far. It completely flips the narrative. Zeke always believed Grisha manipulated Eren into doing his will, and thought he had convinced Eren to follow the euthanasia plan. I don't know if you noticed that scene where Zeke is speaking to Eren at the hospital and throws a baseball at him was already seen a few episodes ago. However, at the time it ended just after Zeke "convinces" Eren to follow along. Now we get the ending with Eren not catching the ball, metaphorically symbolizing the fact that he isn't going along with the plan. During that conversation we also get Eren saying something that goes completely against his character, along the lines of wishing he had never been born. We know he's deceiving Zeke because his motivation for everything he does in the show, since S1, is the legendary quote "Because I was born into this world". When Eren double crossed Zeke, and Zeke pulled the Uno Reverse, it was a great ending to episode 78. Episode 79 is a complete masterpiece. As the memories progress Zeke starts to realise Grisha was actually a good father. The dynamic shifts in the scene where Grisha first sees Zeke, with Eren leading the way to the next memory. The conclusion though is the real work of art. We actually learn that the Attack Titan sees the memories of its inheritors, meaning it knows as much of the future as their inheritors wish to let them know. And Eren was actually the one manipulating Grisha to get the Founder and to use it for something which, AFAIK, is not told yet in the story so I won't go into that. The first instance where we get evidence into these "memories of the future" is when Kruger tells Grisha to save Mikasa and Armin, even though they weren't even born back then. That is Eren manipulating Kruger's actions. We also know that, only after Grisha kills the kids and takes the Founding, does Eren show him what his plan his. Of course we don't know what it is, but it seems horrible enough for Grisha to beg Zeke to do whatever he can to prevent it. Sorry for the long recap of the episodes, but I'm very passionate about these two hahaha. Anyway, love the reactions!

If you remember back when Kruger gave grisha the founding Titan, he mentioned Mikasa and Armin. Now that you got to the big reveal yes eren has been the mastermind of everything happening now since before he was even born by the previous attack titans seeing his memories from the future. Just think about the ramifications of that and keep watching it keeps getting better.
