Boy Meets World Retrospective

This marks my first attempt at a show from the TGIF lineup. For those who are unfamiliar with the programming block, I have a little history lesson at the beginning of this video.

Boy Meets World was never one of my favourites when I was a kid, but I did watch the first few seasons. And visiting it so many years later, I was surprised at how much of it still holds up. The first season is still a bit shaky, but it's still pretty good. And the later stuff had some really special moments.

This retrospective is a little bit longer as I definitely got into some details as the series goes on, and as anyone familiar with the show might suspect, Cory and Topanga kind of takeover as the video progresses. That said, I tried to touch on all the major parts of the series, and I have a little assist from YouTuber T1J. But you'll have to wait to see his video on his channel.

This does speak to something I want to try in future retrospectives, including other creators who make videos on the same series, but diving deeper into specific topics. I was considering doing that myself, but I'd have to make my channel 100% about media analysis, and I don't think I'm ready to give up the political stuff just yet. Even though I'm not entirely sure what my next political video will be on (feel free to offer suggestions!)

As usual, if anyone spots any mistakes, bad cuts, audio issues, etc., please let me know. Also, I'm still trying to figure out a title for this one, so I'm open to suggestions there too.

The next retrospective is full steam ahead as I'm about 30% through watching the next series. But it is a long one, so it may take a while. It's also a very highly requested show, so I think people will like it when it's done.

Thanks again to everyone for all your support!

I might work on those in the future. I'll be making a post here in the next month or so for nominations for the next series poll, so keep an eye out for that.

I don't know if this is the best spot to throw in my retrospective requests, but here they are either way: The Drew Carey Show and Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Thanks for being one of the best video makers out there.

etc etc

I'm glad they work so well! As for Frasier, well, coincidences happen all the time, don't they?

I love these so much. Whenever I show my husband these shows I grew up with (he’s from Hong Kong so he’d never heard of a lot of them) I’m always trying to explain what made them special, what didn’t, why they captured the zeitgeist, how they reflected the time in which they were made, etc. Now I can just show him these videos. Thank you. (I’m gonna show him Frasier soon, just to put that out there.)
