Chilled to the Bone

“After weeks of soft knee deep snow the landscape starts to change. Shards of ice jut up unnaturally from the ground at odd angles. Up to 30 foot long and as sharp as blades you have to slow your pace to pick your way carefully over the ground.

But perhaps the end is in sight. The snaking frozen river you’ve been following heads directly in to the base of a cliff that rears up 50ft towards the sky.

As you get closer you can make out that the river enters the cliff directly under a giant demon skull carved out of the rock face itself. A warm, almost inviting orange glow spills out from the cave entrance across the snowy landscape. Perhaps finally, this is the end of your journey.”

Another week, another map. It’s great to be back and on a roll and with the support for my Patreon page slowly growing. I can't thank you all enough but it really is encouraging. :)

I like to mix up the maps between more mundane ‘simple’ ones, that can be used for your everyday random encounter. And then these more fanciful and over the top ones that are more of a quest destination that evoke questions and hopefully a bit of dread from the players. Let me know in the comments bellow what you think of this one.

But this map concludes the frozen river and snow maps for now. If you wanted to link these in with the Frozen Dungeon series I did a little while ago they should work nicely.

Next up I’m going to be working on some modular interior maps for buildings. Starting with a good old tavern inn interior.
