Amazing work Todd! I’m an Aussie singer/songwriter/music enthusiast. I fronted a country band for a few years and wrote a few hits over here…but I threw in the towel in 2023 when I realised I actually hate country music and I was putting in too much effort when everyone else was just singing “big truck, cold beer, good times” over pop song chords. It's a good sign for the year when you had to dig this deep to find something worth hating on. Well, when Not Like Us gets the top spot in the best list, here's to toasting Kendrick's victory with some (tax deductible) Tam's. I recommend the bacon cheese burger with fries and an Orange Bang.

Also that Dua Lipa album is fine, don't get the disappointment. Also that Eminem song is just fine, sad to see that I think Todd has missed the overall point of Em in general, Houdini is a damn good song. I was genuinely happy to see "Chevrolet" on this list though, my dad listens to a fair bit of country radio and I nearly recoiled in shock when I first heard that song and realized what it was sampling/covering, I was praying Todd would tear it shreds and my prayers were answered thank fuck, what an abomination of a song.

They're being carried by goodwill at this point. Jimin is a good singer most of the time, but HYBE/BigHit loves autotune way too much. It's a style of the company and it's awful. Most kpop that's written in English is hot trash. Tends to shave off all the personality the groups/performers have and lands in this horrible gooey middle. There's a lot of great pop that can fly under the kpop banner, but America just loves to pick the WORST stuff.

2024-12-22 21:43:46 +0000 UTCTodd’s best and worst lists are more important to me than Christmas 🙌🏻 A couple of errors I noticed: in the #5 song and onward, there’s some screen-crop issues where the clips of the music videos aren’t totally full screen. Also at some point during #3 onward the whole screen shifts to the bottom (maybe it’s just my phone?) During #1 some of the subtitles didn’t match up with the audio, and the video cut off kind of abruptly. Also, the first end screen was actually the “Tarzan Boy” end screen. Rest up Todd!! Thanks again for another amazing list ❤️

These videos are like Christmas for me, so please understand I’m just trying to be helpful with the following edit notes! 7:03 - The cut from you talking in this video to you in a previous video is a bit jarring. Was the idea only to show the 50/50 quote? 19:10 - It sounds like the music is up at a level you’d usually have it at while you’re not speaking for a few seconds here. Maybe worth dropping it a few decibels? 20:38 and throughout Marshmallo’s section - Your video in the background while the M/Vs with different aspect ratios block it to varying levels is a bit distracting. The same thing as above also happens intermittently throughout the Jack Harlow section, once at 28:08 at #3, throughout the McDonald/Shapiro section, the honourable mentions and #1. I have seen you do this once or twice before in other videos, but I get the impression it’s not intentional. Apologies if I’m wrong! 37:22 - Lyric captions are out of sync, so not all of the lyrics you’re highlighting actually come up. 39:50 - Accidental recycle of the Tarzan Boy OHW outro card.

2024-12-22 21:33:23 +0000 UTCthat whole verse from kanye kind of gives me pause, too. he's already not been great with consent in the past. the horrible thing with the synthetic nude lookalike of taylor swift in the Famous music video was actually what made me officially decide i was done with him, and that was before his political crap. i still think making a naked replica of a woman he was beefing with to imply he was sleeping with her was disgusting. people made so many obtuse excuses for him at the time (including 'there were other women there too!!!', as if that makes it okay...), but he's only proving himself to be the exact guy his detractors accused him of.

The most popular groups are making the least fun music. Also, a lot of producers suck at making Jimin's voice sound good lol
