Three Stories at the End of the World

To be honest, I don't know lol. I try not to let my audience in on the creative process, but I have literally no clue what to think about this video. I'm not fishing for compliments, don't worry, but this feels like the sort of project that, if I had it my way, I'd remake a thousand times and never show anyone. I hope, though, that you enjoy.

This video is probably the best thing I've seen on youtube all year. I guess since it isn't a super buzzy subject matter it won't get a ton of views, but I really believe it's exactly what every person who does view it and watch it through to the end needed to hear. Keep it up.

Hi, great video ! Just a detail : as a french person with English as a second language, I had to pause the video to find out what "WMD" meant. I understand you can't reasonably explain every concept and word in the video, but acronyms are such a specific, cultural thing, it would have been super helpful to say the entire expression once in the beginning. You actually do it toward the end so.. Anyway, this super specific minor thing apart, I found the video very interesting and moving. Definitely can connect with the question of creating art during a time of crisis...

I can see how much love and thought you put into your writing. I connected with this video on a completly new level. Can‘t wait for the next videos in the serie.

This is the kind of musings on art I really love, this video rules. Some very cool shots in this too

I really liked this. The ideas are strong and you use some really powerful poetic language

amazing video, your best yet. for me it talks about how we desperately want art to have power. there's a beautiful dutch line from a poem that says "alles van waarde is weerloos". meaning "everything of worth is defenceless"

A bit messy but good. Of course, the lack of payoff makes the messiness linger, but that seems like a honest conclusion. I like where you went with the fantasy take, and I feel there's a deeper direction to take after that. But it seems like it would be in line with your overarching theme (why is art scary in the face of horror), and I suppose the “i don't know” conclusion is more of a cliffhanger than a reflection of your complete thought. Also wow you're younger than me! I also remember how weird it was talking about the war in Iraq when we were kids (and I wasn't even in America).

I think experimenting with your format and content is a great thing, even if, and especially if, it doesn't turn out great sometimes. In this case though, I think it was a moving and very effective video. I was also a kid when all this was happening and obviously didn't understand the implications of the Iraq War, and now the process of trying to understand what happened has been so interesting and confusing. How do you even begin to grapple with the cruelty of that invasion, that as a kid you saw only as an odd and distant "adult thing"? I wonder if there is some extra sentimentality there; wondering about the tapestry of Guernica hidden behind that blue curtain is a way to place my present day conviction and morals back in a time where I didn't have any agency. It's like watching a car crash and wishing to go back in time to find a way to stop it from happening, or at least to find a plausible way for history to have gone differently.

But this video is already incredibly good and I'm not in your head so just do what feels right for your message. I'm gonna end up rewatching this one a lot I can tell!

The Hidden Chest

If you want suggestions, mine would be to maybe tell more from the Iraqi side of things? Just to re-emphasise just how terrible the war was to experience. After all this video is about the end of the world, and if you're a citizen of Iraq you actually experienced that. Cities bombed into nothing, rape and pillaging on a mass scale from every military involved, an incomprehensible level of death and suffering, babies are still born deformed on a mass scale, poisoned by the United states of America. and then nothing got better for them.

The Hidden Chest

Nevermind the total contradiction 😂😂

Big Joel!!! Big big big big big Joel!! In relation to art, I’ve written a book of poetry and am shamelessly asking creators and artists that I admire to please read it. It’s called “Pretentious Pseudo-Philosophical Bullshit” by Dr. Peuss. I have set the precedent. The choice is yours. Also another banger of a video!! Been looking forward to this one.
