This Is As Far As You Can Go

In 1953 Bettie Page did a spread in Carnival Magazine called "This Is As Far As You Can Go" that gave visual representations, showing what the laws were in each state regarding the state of undress. I think these are just so cute. Maybe I should recreate some of these? I tried to look up modern laws regarding "Sexually Oriented Business Laws" and the definitions of nudity in each state, but guess what? They're different in every damn county! So imagine being a stripper in Cook County, IL and going to McHenry County, IL and getting a fine for violating an ordinance you didn't even know existed. Talk about being set up for success!

As an old guy who remembers Bettie Page in her heyday and was lucky enough to see some of the Burlesque Queens of the 50s and 60s perform, I always look forward to your historical input, Danielle. Thank you!

A great idea. I'm sure that any article you share about this will be very interesting reading. Thanks Dannie.
