Halloween is almost here! Here’s a little Halloween tale for you. This was not long after I moved to Chicago. The house I lived in at this time was something else to say the absolute least! Halloween morning, my niece Alaina and I were taking a walk through Palmer Square on our way to get a coffee, trying to get our steps in, being very Golden Girls. We ended up talking about the dreams we each had the night before, about a little girl in our home who wasn't related to us but needed our help. It was incredibly distressing, and then to find out we each had the same dream was even more concerning. We did our best to look through the archival information available about the house but there wasn't much. Anyway, it was such a draining experience that I wasn't really in the mood to do anything that evening, but little baby Alaina was always itching to go out and do something and loves convincing her auntie to get into mischief. Finally, she talked me into getting dressed up and going out to see my friends the Drive-By Truckers play at the Vic theater. Of course, being last minute we had to scrounge together costumes out of what we had. Any guesses on who we dressed up as?
