Over the years i have struggled with so many different kinds of skin issues that it has confused me to the core.
It’s not often that otc meds help except for topical Benadryl.
Today I’m trying something new. Well maybe not new... Old to kitchen witches everywhere but new to me.
For years my friends who are chiropractors and holistic healers have told me to try apple cider vinegar for my troubled skin. I have not listened..
Instead of taking sound advice from my healing professionals I opted to take a less stinky route.
Apple cider vinegar has so many health benefits including antimicrobial and antioxidant effects, aiding weight loss, reducing cholesterol, lowering blood sugar levels, and improving the symptoms of diabetes.... But... it smells like rotten apples, a fragrance I’m not at all fond of.
I never thought I would say it but, Today I decided to give it a try.
What lead me to this decision? I’ll tell you. A few days ago I went to the beach and swam like I usually do. This time however I didn’t have time to shower and change into clean clothes. I had to sit for a 3 hour drive across the island from Viejo San Juan back home to Rincon.
In the course of that drive I felt icky and wet because bacteria was partying in my Sandy, waterlogged vagina😬
Eeewww..... right?!
All you femmes out there know what that means... that’s right, infection is imminent!😱
I got home and showered like my life depended on it and still ended up getting an irritated hoo ha.
Thank the Gods there was no big infection to deal with but the long trip did cause itchy bumps to raise from the previously immaculate glory of my now thoroughly irritated undercarriage.
Last night was spent doing damage control. I know from past experience that if I don’t clean my skin regularly and well after a trip to the beach the bacteria causes acne all over my body. Obviously this is something I’m adamant about as I despise itchy, rashy, irritated skin.
I reached out to my friend Vivienne at “Centro La Paz” http://www.lapazrincon.com
Vivienne told me to run a vinegar bath and I chose to listen this time. As I’m laying here allowing my skin to drink in the antibacterial benefits I realized that I should have done this long ago. Immediately I feel like my skin is soothed and the smell of the vinegar dissipated pretty fast.
As a matter of fact my skin feels softer too!
I will be in this bath for about 30 minutes and can’t take these baths more than 3x a week but I will be doing this regularly.
And for all you burlesques, strippers and beach bunnies out there, it also made my skin more even toned! No more redness from bug bites and rashes. On top of that I realize that ACV calms my itchy scalp from the ocean water too.
Just thought you might like to know😊
What do you do for irritated skin, hoo ha or otherwise?
(ACV= Apple Cider Vinegar)
