Stripping History Nashville
Added 2021-03-14 13:13:54 +0000 UTCI was taking a moment this morning to think back on the first live stripping history museum tour I did in Nashville Tennessee.
Nashville is like a second home to me because I work there with American pickers at antique archaeology quite often.
It was such a magical time, magical building, magical town, and most definitely magical people who made these historic costumes shine once again on stage.
I had to take a moment and just think of how many years it had been since any of these costumes had seen daylight much less a beautiful world famous burlesque stage. It gives me goosebumps to think these costumes were able to live yet another day on stage.
The costume that I am wearing in this photo (the Lillie Langtry costume) is from the 1890s. That’s 130 years since it has sparkled in the stage light!
I decided it was a great opportunity to take this month and stroll down memory lane.

What is wrapped around my thighs is a bootie lifter that is attached to my blue law panty. Since this event was in Nashville we had to adhere to the blue law code, meaning I had to wear a panty that covered every fold in my genitalia and bottom. So what you are seeing is the bottom strap of that contraption. The back is tied with stretch fabric so that I dont break the fasteners. The costume sits tight on me so that fabric relieves the tension. Great questions!

2021-03-15 19:09:26 +0000 UTCThe opera cape was not originally with the costume but came from the same lot of costumes. The body cage is fun to wear but gives me anxiety because I’m afraid I will break it however it is very sturdy so it has held up beautifully
