I think it’s the shades of gray, the black-and-white, the mystery in between the color and the absence of color. You don’t see the overt pinks and reds of flushed skin, you have to imagine that part. I find it all to be quite magical.
I find these postcards to be some of the most magical because it freely shows love between same-sex partners, that was so often written out of history and French postcards are one of the rare places where we can clearly see same-sex attraction, love, affection.
