What can I say about this day? I was feeling particularly down this day. Just a case of the blahs, nothing big but bad enough to suck. When i'm feeling this way I go outside and get whatever exercise id available. On this day, it was paddle boarding. The water was calm... It felt like the only calm thing in my life in this moment. I was just drinking it in, until... Jeremy says to me "Hey, remember how you said you were going to learn to headstand on the ocean? Do that, try it." So I did. Here is footage of my last few attempts. I almost gave up, I almost quit... Almost! I pushed through, found my center, gave into the waves and allowed myself to fall. Over and over and over again. Then.....It WORKED!!!!! The point is that as dancers we have to try things 100 times before it looks good at all. It will be clumsy and sloppy until it's not. It will hurt until it doesent. Things will suck until they don't. Ride the wave of excitement upon accomplishing something difficult then move on to the next task. Keep growing. Stay hungry. Not to outdo the competition but to outdo yourself. Celebrate the Highs, brace yourself for the lows and just keep going. Don't stop! You've got this!
