Godfather System C127 Birmingham mob bosses

Thomas looked thoughtful, his eyes distant as he formulated his strategy. "We'll counter-offer, of course. But even if we only manage to squeeze out 35 percent of the partnership, it's still a significant improvement."

Polly's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Thirty-five percent? Thomas, that's not like you. I've never seen you settle for less than an equal share in any deal."

Thomas took a long drag from his cigarette before responding. "This isn't just any deal, Pol. Lorenzo Lupo isn't just any partner."

Polly leaned forward, her sharp eyes studying Thomas's face. "I've noticed something peculiar about this whole situation. You're looking at Lorenzo differently, Thomas. And it's not just you." She glanced at Arthur and John. "You two clearly have some animosity towards him, yet there's a grudging respect there too. What's really going on? Who is this Lorenzo Lupo?"

The Shelby brothers exchanged glances, an unspoken communication passing between them. The room fell silent, the only sound the soft crackle of Thomas's cigarette as he took another drag.

Finally, Thomas spoke, his voice low and measured. "Lorenzo Lupo is... complicated. During the war, he saved our lives more than once. But he also put us in danger, pushed us to our limits."

Arthur nodded, his face a mix of emotions. "Bastard's got balls of steel, I'll give him that. Never seen anyone so calm in the face of death."

John chimed in, "He's a right crafty bugger too. Always three steps ahead of everyone else."

Polly's eyes narrowed as she processed this information. "So he's not just some American gangster looking to expand. There's history here."

Thomas nodded slowly. "More than that, Pol. Lorenzo Lupo is possibly the most dangerous man I've ever met. And that's precisely why this partnership could be exactly what we need to take the Shelby Company to the next level."

The room fell silent again as the weight of Thomas's words sank in. Polly could see it now - the mixture of fear, respect, and opportunity that Lorenzo represented to the Shelby brothers.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo, Adam, and Leo made their way through the bustling streets of London, heading towards the Italian quarter. The neighborhood was controlled by Darby Sabini's gang, a fact that Lorenzo was well aware of from his research.

As they stepped into Sabini's territory, the atmosphere noticeably shifted. Eyes followed their every move, locals and gangsters alike sizing up the well-dressed strangers. Lorenzo, however, walked with an air of calm confidence, as if he owned the very streets beneath his feet.

They approached a bustling Italian restaurant, clearly a front for less savory operations. Lorenzo pushed open the door, the bell chiming to announce their arrival.

Inside, the chatter died down as heads turned to observe the newcomers. At a corner table, Darby Sabini himself sat surrounded by his lieutenants, his eyebrows furrowing at the sight of the unfamiliar faces.

One of Sabini's men, a burly enforcer, stepped forward to block their path. "This is a private establishment, gentlemen. I'm afraid you'll have to leave."

Lorenzo smiled, his voice smooth and unperturbed. "Is that any way to treat potential business associates? I was hoping to have a word with Mr. Sabini."

Sabini, intrigued by Lorenzo's boldness, raised a hand to halt his enforcer. "And who might you be, walking into my territory so casually?"

Lorenzo's smile widened. "Lorenzo Lupo, from Los Angeles."

Sabini's frown deepened as he listened to Lorenzo. "Los Angeles? Never heard of you. I don't bother with news from the States unless it's about New York. That's where the real Italian power lies."

Adam and Leo exchanged glances, noting Sabini's dismissive attitude towards their city. Lorenzo, however, remained unruffled.

"I'm just here to relax, Mr. Sabini," Lorenzo said smoothly. "Enjoy some authentic Italian cuisine."

Sabini's patience wore thin. He gestured to his men, ready to have these strangers removed. "Get them out of here."

As Sabini's enforcers approached, Lorenzo spoke up. "Before we leave, perhaps you'd be interested in discussing a business opportunity?"

Sabini's hand raised, halting his men. Curiosity flickered in his eyes. "What kind of business?"

With a nod from Lorenzo, Adam produced a set of familiar papers, laying them out on a nearby table.

"The same offer I've made to other interested parties in London," Lorenzo explained, his voice calm and confident. "A chance to expand your reach across the Atlantic."

As Sabini leaned forward to examine the documents, it was clear that Lorenzo wasn't bluffing about having other options besides the Peaky Blinders. Despite his fondness for the gang from his previous life, Lorenzo was playing a much larger game now. In this world, sentiment took a backseat to opportunity and power.

Sabini's eyes scanned the documents, his frown deepening with each line. He looked up at Lorenzo, disbelief evident in his voice. "Thirty percent? You come into my territory and offer me crumbs?"

Lorenzo remained composed, his smile unwavering. "It's a reasonable offer, Mr. Sabini. After all, you're not fully aware of the extent of our operations in Los Angeles."

Sabini scoffed, waving his hand dismissively. "Los Angeles? I have no interest in some backwater American city. New York, Chicago - those are worth my time. But Los Angeles? It's nothing."

Lorenzo's smile took on a knowing edge. "You might be surprised, Mr. Sabini. The world is changing, and power is shifting. Los Angeles is the future."

"The future?" Sabini laughed derisively. "The future of what? Hollywood starlets and beach bums?"

Lorenzo straightened, adjusting his impeccable suit. "Think about it, Mr. Sabini. The offer stands... for now." He nodded to Adam and Leo. "Gentlemen, shall we?"

As Lorenzo and his men turned to leave, Sabini called out, "You're making a mistake, Lupo. You don't know who you're dealing with."

Lorenzo paused at the door, looking back over his shoulder. "On the contrary, Mr. Sabini. I know exactly who I'm dealing with. The question is... do you?"

With that, Lorenzo exited the restaurant, leaving a thoughtful Sabini staring after him. Despite his bravado, Sabini couldn't shake the feeling that he might have just dismissed something significant.

As the door closed behind Lorenzo, Sabini motioned for one of his men. "Find out everything you can about this Lorenzo Lupo and his operations in Los Angeles. Everything."

The game in London had just become more complex, and Darby Sabini wasn't about to be left behind.

Meanwhile, Ada stormed into Polly's house, her face flushed with a mix of curiosity and indignation. "Aunt Pol, why didn't anyone tell me about the American visitor?"

Polly looked up from her accounting books, a knowing smile on her face. "Ah, so you've heard. News travels fast in Small Heath, doesn't it?"

Ada sat down across from her aunt, leaning forward eagerly. "A Blinders boy told me. Said this American had Tommy and the others all riled up. What happened?"

Polly set aside her work, lighting a cigarette as she considered her words. "His name's Lorenzo Lupo. Came all the way from Los Angeles to propose a business partnership."

"And?" Ada pressed, impatient for more details.

Polly's eyes glinted with amusement. "And he managed to do something I've rarely seen - he had your brothers on the back foot. Even Tommy seemed... cautious."

Ada's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Tommy? Cautious? That doesn't sound like him at all."

"Exactly," Polly nodded. "This Lupo character... he's different. Confident, smooth-talking, but with an edge of danger. He offered a deal that would expand our reach to America, but on his terms."

Ada leaned back, processing this information. "And Tommy's considering it?"

"He is," Polly confirmed. "Which tells you something about this Lorenzo Lupo."

Ada's curiosity was now fully piqued. "I want to meet him, Aunt Pol. If he can make such an impression on Tommy and the others, I need to see for myself what he's like."

Polly studied her niece carefully. "Be careful, Ada. Men like Lorenzo Lupo are dangerous in more ways than one."

Ada stood up. "I can handle myself."

As dusk settled over Birmingham, Lorenzo, Adam, and Leo made their way through yet another rough neighborhood. They had spent the day boldly walking into various gang territories, meeting with local mob bosses. Each encounter left Adam and Leo more tense than the last.

Lorenzo, on the other hand, strolled through the streets as if he were on a leisurely vacation. He admired the architecture, commented on the local pubs, and even stopped to chat with a few street vendors. His apparent nonchalance only served to heighten his companions' anxiety.

"Boss," Adam muttered as they passed through a particularly rough neighborhood, "don't you think we're taking unnecessary risks?"

Lorenzo chuckled. "Risks? This is how you learn the lay of the land, gentlemen. Every alley, every whisper, every wary glance - it all tells a story."

As they finally reached their hotel, Adam and Leo visibly relaxed. Lorenzo, however, was already planning their next move.

"Get some rest, gentlemen," he said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Tomorrow, we pay a visit to the Lee family."

Adam and Leo exchanged worried glances. "The Lees?" Leo asked hesitantly. "Aren't they known for being particularly... volatile?"

Lorenzo's grin widened. "Exactly. That's what makes them interesting potential partners."

As they headed to their rooms, Leo whispered to Adam, "I'm starting to think the boss enjoys this a little too much."

Adam nodded grimly. "Tell me about it. Los Angeles never seemed so appealing."

Meanwhile, Lorenzo settled into his room, feeling invigorated by the day's events. To him, this wasn't just business - it was an adventure, a chance to reshape the underworld on both sides of the Atlantic. And he was just getting started.
