A note about upcoming taxes
Added 2020-06-18 23:50:14 +0000 UTCStarting july, US patrons will be getting taxed on their pledges. Which means an additional amount will be taken from your stated pledge. It's already the case for europeans, now US citizens will get it too except that it's added to the price instead of being included or whatever DOESN'T MATTER you can read it on your own there :
Point is, you can unpledge if you don't want that additional amount taken but wait before you consider that. It's possible it doesn't fucking matter at all ! Here's why :
Typical Benefit Type // Examples // U.S. Status
Donations/Support // Support only. Language such as βpledge whatever. // Currently exempt from Sales Tax in the majority of states
Exclusive Community Access // Patron only posts, Discord server access, polls // Exempt in majority of states
This is basically what I offer. I'm going to edit the reward tier to reflect that so that no one pays taxes, since this patreon of mine is purely donation, not a store of any kind and there are basically no rewards to be gotten from giving me money but the tingly feeling inside your vagoopeen that you did the right thing !
- TL:DR : TAXES SHOULD APPLY TO US PEOPLE IN JULY BUT SINCE I GIVE NO REWARDS YOU SHOULDN'T PAY ANY.
