Finally got Kara in her spacesuit!

Saw this prompt as a good opportunity to pull out that masking liquid I used for “MAP” (as well as a bit of a follow up to that piece). This time I used it for a lot more stars and planets. Here’s a look at how it looked before going in with watercolors.

Messy! But I like the end results. Next time I’ll have to try using it on a non-space related piece. Unfortunately, it’ll have to be with a different brush, as SuperBatober has faced its first casualty of the month.

Apparently if you apply this masking liquid too liberally, it gums up and destroys your brush. Regularly applying your brush with soap is supposed to alleviate this problem so I’ll have to try that next time. Thankfully, this was just the free brush that came with the liquid (and I have plenty of old brushes to replace it with).

Also, apologies. I’m posting this remotely (last day in Chattanooga!) and forgot to upload the pencils for this piece to my phone before leaving. I’ll be sure to get them up tomorrow if you want to check back. Did manage to snap this detail tho:
