GUWEIZ Patreon Series EP51 (Talk + Paint)

I'm looking into recording more full processes and sharing them here! So as a start, I thought I'd get into painting and talking at the same time a little more :) I feel it would become incredibly dry and repetitive if I were to just explain the technicalities of what's happening on screen all the time, so one of my goals is to also mix things up and talk about a little more than just that.

Feel free to check out the video and let me know what you think! As always, I'm incredibly grateful for the support here, and this month I finally get to ramp up my personal work up again to share with you guys!

To me, drawing sort of make me focus and calm my mind. It's just a hobby for me to keep myself busy and really relaxing while I'm doing it. Time really flies when I'm really focus on just drawing. I'm always looking for ways to improve and draw better, until I chanced upon your work and Patreon, I really take it as an inspiration and motivation to keep drawing and keep getting better. I don't draw that much as I have other commitments. But yeah, it just feel great whenever I can really sit down and just start drawing, even though it's just random sketching. Thank you!

reflecting on the question, i realized my main motivations nowadays are totally different than when i started. when i was 19-23 i could draw for hours even though i wasnt good. (of course the pandemic was happening and i didnt have a job so i could sink more hours into art) but my main motivations were to just A) show off to my friends and B) the idea of creating something from nothing intrigued me. i also had this unachievable dream (at least in my head) that i would make a living doing art by 25 but im 25 now and that just didnt happen lol. i still like to create, but i have a full time 9-5 job now so my output has decreased very drastically . my current job is not creatively fulfilling and so doing art now sort of fills that void for me. its basically therapy at this point. one thing i learned about burnout, from personal experience, is that whenever i feel burnout, i will not try to force an idea or a drawing to come to mind. i do think its easier for someone like me who's only doing it for a hobby, but i think the community here is so great, if you wanted to take a break and recharge none of us would have any issues
