I've finally got a nice big set ready to deliver! My fantasy works are still in progress, so Irena and Yin will have to do for the time being :) It's been a really fun time creating this set - I've done a similar theme before, but this time I feel like I could capture a lot more of the actual feel and mood of the location I wanted to create. I hope you enjoy it too!

As always, I want to know what you think, so feel free to let me know! The process walkthrough video will be up a little bit later in the month, so keep an eye out for that too. Thank you so much as always for your kind support and patience here, it means the most!!

Thank you so kindly!!

Thank you, it's very much an old Shanghai look, right? The tiger is definitely usually not an auspicious omen in the culture, but I thought it might be visually exciting and easier to show than a dragon in this case :) Thank you for the kind words as always!!

GUWEIZ

I really do enjoy reading everyone's interpretation! Perhaps a sense of vagueness is indeed what I am aiming for :P

GUWEIZ

Thank you so much! I always tend to look towards points where I'm still lacking, so to hear such genuine compliments is really touching. Thank you so much as always for being here! I will keep building on what I have so I can deliver more visual treats in the future :)

GUWEIZ

It's a very visually attractive traditional dress, much of the credit goes to it's original designers indeed!

Thank you so much for these kind words. They really help to keep me going!

I can't wait to see more of your work, and congrats on the exhibit! I've learned SO MUCH from you since following you and I am so grateful for the time you spend explaining your process to us. It's really useful and makes me want to draw even more each time. <3

Thank you, these are amazing as always. My wife and I always look forward to seeing what you publish!

I agree. That's the first time I've seen them go from "Sisters in arms" to "maybe there's more going on."

Time to change my backgrounds and lock screens.

Yin's Cheongsam is by far her best look ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I respectfully disagree. That last scene isn't platonic. I always thought they were close, hence sisters or other family. This is the first romantic vibes I've seen, but meh. Eye of the beholder and all that. Still love the set.

Personally, I don't think it changes their relationship all that much. We already know they live together (referencing the "Morning" set), they regularly go out on "dates" together (the "Day Off" set mainly, but also "Carpark Dinner", "Highway", and "Snack Break"), and their job as assassins means they regularly put their lives on the line every time they step outside. The last one will definitely result in them being a lot closer than you might expect. People like soldiers and firefighters have very strong bonds of (platonic) brotherhood so it's not a stretch that Yin and Irena have something similar.

Eclipse

This is one of my favorite sets you've ever done. The tense emotions communicated by the posing, lighting, and expressions are just incredibly potent. I love the power in your illustrations. These show off your core strengths as an artist so well, and while I do enjoy seeing your experiments and learning pieces, staples like these where you lean fully into the techniques you've mastered are an indescribable treat to witness.

That last scene makes me rethink my own head canon about their relationship. I always pictured them as sisters or cousins who grew up differently. One had very western influences, the suits, her sword, the cross earrings. While the other grew up more traditional, traditional dress, her weapon choices, the jade jewelry. His my little world, but this new twist works too. Awesome set.

I love the second picture, the wooden shelf , porcelain vases, 凤尾竹 on the front, old style sofas and lamp, those details all give me the nostalgia feelings which I really enjoy.苂's face on the fourth picture is breathtaking, you really create a goddess and I wish to see more of her! The tiger in the third one is a little bit shocking though, never seen such a big one in someone's house before, maybe a dragon is better;)? Thanks for the masterpiece set and wish to see more in the next Chinese year!
