And we're back!

2025: I am in you. The Christmas holiday seems to fly by faster each passing year. But I'm rested, recharged and ready for more. My passion for this game is as strong as ever, so as usual, today's first post of the new year will be a look ahead to what's in store.

First up, we have the public release of 0.9. But if you recall, I have already mentioned that this won't be like just any public release - it will include new content since the supporter release, so you have something new to look forward to as well! I won't be making a habit of doing this - after all, early access to content is one of the perks you're paying for, but it was that or fail to release 0.9 before Christmas. The new content will be a two-parter - first up is a new event for second period, Health Inspection, (remember I mentioned we were going to finally be meeting the nurse?) and this will lead to a new after school activity as well.

I've started making renders for it, so I'll give you a quick sneak peek soon.

After that, it's onward to 0.10! What will the headline quest for this new update be? Well the Council are hashing that out as we speak. You may have seen that the first round of voting went up yesterday. The whole process will take a few weeks, but with heavyweight options such as Jess's and Miss Paris's relationship quests in the mix, plus a new idea I've had to take the slot vacated by Slave to Love, I'm very excited to see how the vote goes. Best Frenemies (Jess's relationship quest) definitely goes into this contest as the favourite, but we're now getting so used to upsets here that I certainly wouldn't want to bet on the outcome!

I am also hoping to make the third Missy short mini-adventure this year, perhaps in time for the fourth birthday celebrations (in June.) I don't want to build up hype before I know if I have time to do it, but I will tell you that once again, we'll be taking on the role of another popular character from the Missy setting, and this one will be even more fun to pilot than Karen!

The year that was

As far as a retrospective on 2024 goes, it was a very submissive and embarrassing year for our heroine. We started strong last January with the public launch of Chapter Five, then it was straight into the final part of Reign of Jess. Chapter Six released in May, with the mini-update following in August. It took over 2 months to make the mini-update as the insanity that my life has become began to bite, a theme which continued until the launch of Slave to Love four months later. 2024 was by no means as bad a year for me as 2023, (when I lost my remaining parent,) but super-busy has now become the new normal. The Christmas break came as a blessed relief as I was burning out, and I spent most of it eating chocolate and playing video games.

Having stepped back from the precipice of burnout, I'm getting better at pacing myself and hope that 2025 is the year that I manage to perfect this balance. Updates here should hopefully begin to return to something approaching a normal schedule as I'm no longer rushing to get an update out. We're at the pre-pre stage of the next development cycle when I don't even know what the next quest is going to be yet, so I'm making school events to pass the time!
