the uphill battle of tolerating Alan is worth it for the zombies

Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things (1972) REACTION

I mentioned Deathdream for the zombie list. But it only got 2 nominations, 3 were the bare minimum to have a chance, which was what the tie breaker poll was for.

Someone already mentioned Bob Clark did Black Christmas (1974), but he also directed Porky's (1981) and A Christmas Story (1983). He also did a movie called Deathdream (1974) which someone probably should've mentioned for your zombie list, I forgot about it until just now thinking about other movies Bob Clark has done.

I remember watching this on TV when I was 9 or 10. We had a local channel that would play these old B-movies on a weekend afternoon. It was called "Not So Great Movies". It was usually Godzilla B-movies, where Godzilla or King Kong would give the finger to whatever monster they happened to be fighting. So, I wasn't ready for this movie.😅 I remember feeling my hair standing on end when the zombies rose up (the music played a big part). I remember I was actually more frightened when they boarded the boat. I remember thinking "oh no, they'll reach the mainland"😱🤣

When the zombies started coming out I was SHOCKED, I figured I would like what I saw, but they really put their budget into zombies which I appreciate. I would have loved a remake...

This was from thee Bob Clark that later made Black Christmas. Bob Clark’s debut was shot in 14 days on a $50K budget, with college friends filling cast and crew roles. He planned a bigger-budget remake, but he and his son were tragically killed by a drunk driver. In the early 2010s, Tom Savini signed on to direct a remake with hopes of teaming up with George Romero. Delays killed the project—despite plans for a record-breaking zombie count. Alan Ormsby, who played the sadistic director Alan, also co-wrote the script and designed the corpse makeup, including the iconic Orville. He'd be very happy with your reaction to Alan (he went out of his way to try to irritate the audience with his performance) That's his real life wife at the time that he pushed into the zombie horde. It laid groundwork for the horror-comedy subgenre, influencing later films like The Evil Dead The film was shot on a remote island near Miami for its eerie, overgrown cemetery look. But the rocky, compacted soil proved impenetrable—even a jackhammer bounced off. With no pro crew or gear, Bob Clark’s friends spent 14-hour days for a week breaking rock by hand to carve 33 partial graves (for ghouls) and one full grave (Orville), delaying production and draining the team. Tombstones were styrofoam, inscribed with crew names.
