2025-07-20 16:10:14 +0000 UTCrelated to the big sur trip, im reminded of a story from my mother childhood. to drop a little generational trauma lore, she went to big sur with her parents and her two younger siblings. my grandmothers best skill is bringing out the worst in people. well cut to big sur, family trip and my mom and her siblings hangin out a camper van begging their father stop pushing it towards the cliffs edge. thankfully he stopped, and my moms the only one old enough of her siblings to remember this event... he was far from perfect, but only ever fought with his wife. he was the nicest person to everyone else while dealing with a wife who had at multiple points knocked him out with a telephone to the head and once almost pushed him into a running table saw. generational trauma is rough, but we grow and learn, and ive been very proud of my mom for all the steps shes taken in her life to not repeat that cycle of abuses she went through in her youth. anyways, just a lighthearted post... lmao. love you all <3
