I knew someone who used to volunteer training one puppy at a time to become guide dogs for the blind. She had a dog "fail" on the last exam (I think out of 10 or 11 total exams) in guide dogs for the blind and get diverted into training to be a diabetic alert dog for a little girl. They're faster than mechanical blood sugar level monitors.

speaking of spooky stories, i was away at church camp (🙃) in 2013 or 2014 and out of nowhere, one day i started bawling my eyes out and i wanted to go home, but they wouldn't let me. i was hyperventilating and i had never cried like that before. come to find out when i got home, my great-grandmother passed away at that exact time. that same year (whichever one it was lol), it was the start of 7th grade, i had to go to her funeral, then go to my first day of class the next day. i got on the bus that morning and smelled the perfume my grandmother wore who passed in 2007. my mom has another story about me and her great-grandmother when i was a baby but i can't remember it. something about her also passing and then some-odd month old me pointing at a picture of her over and over

Oh also just realized that in your example, the person reporting the woman is not “victim” of the actions committed by the woman therefore they don’t have any right to enact justice in the first place. Just like a fan of the influencer whose n00ds are leaked wouldn’t have the right to “enact justice” (dox the terrible dude) on her behalf.

You make a good point that “justice” is relative to whoever you’re talking to but then where do we draw the line at what “justice” is vigilante/bad and which is “proper” or “good” forms of justice. Like if we say, for example, that the law/cops draw that line then would you consider it justice still when the law improperly puts an innocent person in jail or charges a woman for murder bc the law in her state says abortion is murder? My point is that there is no such thing as “proper” justice given that the definition of justice, like you said, is subjective and therefore, what’s the difference between victims enacting justice vs. the law? Doxing isn’t necessarily the “right” or “only” way to do so but there is technically no “right” way. Imo victims should be the ones who define that term and the consequences within reason ofc.

Another fantastic episode! Also just wanted to say with regards to Maya worrying that you guys talking about something like an in-joke for 5 minutes is an issue of sort. I actually think it's one of the best things about your dynamic, as opposed to a lot of over-produced podcasts with fixed talking points, your podcast feels like it could easily just be like fly-on-the-wall perspective of a conversation between you as you catch up on the week. It's very relatable and personable, keep up the fantastic show!

Great podcast! <3 My one input is that I disagree so much with the idea that doxing a terrible human being is equivalent to “an eye for an eye” because the thing is, actions have consequences!!! Unfortunately however, the internet and the lack of laws that address internet-based crimes, makes it so that people think their online actions (as terrible as they may be) won’t have any real-life consequences. And the sad truth is that it’s going to be decades before we have laws that address all these issues (thanks to the fact that most lawmakers are ancient) so why not use the tools that victims have (their large platforms for example) to exude some sort of temporary consequences? Obviously not towards minors or anything but I don’t see anything wrong in getting these terrible people fired from their jobs for example to show them that their online actions have consequences. Anyways loved the topics today <3
