Honestly if he really thought Rhaenyra was going to run away with him then he clearly didn’t know her at all

2022-09-22 13:15:31 +0000 UTCCompletely agree with this overall. I see a lot of people romanticizing the men in Rhaenyra's life (not just Criston, but Daemon) and it only makes me sad for her. Because in the end, their actions and reactions aren't even really about her, especially once they see she can't be controlled. It's about honor, or the "sullying" thereof (Criston), or it's about power (Daemon), etc. Ultimately, even as I dislike Criston, I sort of appreciate the arc in a sense, this knighthood as nightmare kind of thing, wherein it really *can't* be romanticized, though I know people will try.
