The thing Whitebeard said to Blackbeard about people surviving throughout the ages even if you killed their bloodties and how there are people you can't break, he was literally talking about 2 things, it wasn't just a reference about Ace and Luffy's bond being unbroken, Whitebeard was using the words Roger once told him about the history of the D. and how the D. people survived, as well as the reason why there are so many unrelated D. names. They aren't 2nd cousins, they don't necessarily share bloodties. At one point, the real D.'s got extinguished but their wills got passed onto others, a.k.a. others who sided with D. sharing the believe started carrying the D. name in their names. In present time the meaning behind the D. has been mostly forgotten. But the name still prevails. And even without the knowledge, people who inherited the D. are repeating the past history, automatically inheriting the will of the original D. But what was most brutal was Whitebeard telling Blackbeard that he wasn't the man Roger was expecting to appear, the one man that will claim the one piece and shook the world in an unimaginable big, BIG future war (something related to the one piece). And that's gotta hurt for Blackbeard.
