I think the term you were looking for was "magical realism." I thought of the movie more like a fairy tale and follows a similar logic. As for the ending I felt like the director was saying "for the last two hours I've shown you why I'm angry. Now I will scream." Demi deserved the Oscar.

2025-02-28 12:34:21 +0000 UTCThis movie goes on my list of "Fantastic movies that I NEVER want to see again" 😂 That scene where Elisabeth can't bring herself to leave her apartment and go out with the guy from high school is one of the most heartbreaking things I've seen on film. Just an incredible performance from Demi Moore
