I love how much subtlety there is with Detective Loki and the way they present the character in order to inform the ending. He grew up in a boys home under rough conditions, he has a disdain for christianity because of it (which contrasts against Holly and Keller in different ways). He was likely a delinquent as a result of his upbringing, which is why he tries to hide his tattoos with his clothing. Most crucially though, he is doggedly determined and said to have solved every case he has been assigned. The entire point of that revelation is to answer the 'cliffhanger' ending. He was never going to stop looking for Keller.

It was Ben Affleck’s directing debut and stars Casey Affleck, Michelle Monaghan, Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman, John Ashton, and Amy Ryan (her Academy Award nominated performance).
