The War of the Five Kings has left great desolation, and they couldn't really fully stock up their larders anyway. And who do you think would Aegon draw supplies for his campaign into the Westerlands? The faithful to him Crownlands, or the Riverlords who changed cloak half a dozen times in the last few years. If House Blackwood gets land by the sea, their problem with supplies for winter will easily be solved. On top of that, the Frey Treachery soured relations between some houses and set a general distrust in the area. I also believe Tytos Blackwood has legitimate reasons to be concerned. The feud the Blackwoods have with the Brackens is the stuff of legends, and he's just tired of dealing with all the bullshit in the Riverlands. His options are scarce - House Lannister and Baelish, a grandson of braavosi sellsword as a Paramount. Or House Targaryen and mayhaps Jonos Bracken as a paramount of the Riverlands (something he'd rather die than accept, as we saw in ASOIAF book canon) or mayhaps even Edmure Tully as a paramount. Yet Edmure married a Frey, and the Frey name is synonymous to a curse. There's a point where one says fuck this, packs their stuff and leaves, and I believe for the Blackwood, this was that moment. They are also believers of the Old Gods surrounded by followers of the Faith of the Seven, so their relationships to all the surrounding Lords is strained at least to a small degree because of this. House Blackwood might have been exiled from the North a thousand years ago or more, but it is the best options right now, according to Tytos' PoV at least.

Just a small note of criticism, I think those Riverlords wanting to uproot their entire families and move North is very unrealistic, especially with winter approaching. Otherwise I really like the in-depth character and world-building..
