Dad Reacts to Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher

Dad Reacts to Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher

Comments

I know this is late I just came around to watching this but the reason why the end track loops back to the first track is because at the end of a movie it loops back to the DVD menu!

betsinasa

Run the Jewels

Sergio Mendez

Please do the record by boygenius it is a beautiful album for late night listening. The supergroup contains Phoebe Bridgers and two other similar artists

D4Darius

Echoing this: was looking for Punisher today and ran into this. :(

James Ryan

Hey guys I don't know if you will see this message, but it seems this vid didn't update to the knew platform you guys use to host your videos bunnycdn. It still says it's on Vimeo and for that reason we can't watch it. I just got into Phoebe and saw you had already did a reaction and wanted to watch.

Nate

This album to me personally feels like driving at dusk music. Songs like Chinese Satellite and Halloween are honestly kinda perfect to listen to as you're seeing the sun set on the road.

NathanCritz

Something you mentioned, Kevin, makes me think you'd really enjoy Lorde's stuff! Especially on her first two albums, sonically and structurally, it can be really innovative and new and it has those little surprises I love in music.

Pia

You guys need to check out Stranger in the Alps too. It's often overshadowed by Punisher but it's great in its own right. Plus if you get a chance to see her live, you should go. Saw her last month in Belgium and it was one of the best concerts I've went to.

Pia

It's actually the opposite. She changed the name of the single version briefly from ICU to I See You because the pandemic had just started. However, she kept the original title for the album version.

Eric Bumbera

10000% yes

Krissy

lovely reaction to a lovely album. can't wait for a reaction to strangers in the alps! as always, thank you guys

Selma Hagen

folklore folklore folklore please

Ryan (WaveReact)

react to Alaska from Maggie Rogers. There is the pharrell react video aswell :)

Martin Malm

fun phoebe fact the song ICU was originally titled 'i see you' but she changed it before the release because of the pandemic lol

allie

her music is rlly nice to paint to :')

viberonin

Would love it if you checked out an album from Andy Shauf. 'The Bearer of Bad News' and 'The Party' are his best. Very similar feeling to this album.

Bill O'Connor

You write a comment like 'L+ ratio' to get a reaction, and don't have the guts to stand behind it when asked? OK.

Jon Scanlon

You’re thinking way too thoroughly into a harmless twitter joke. Not everything is as deep as you think it is. Didn’t have to write an essay about the objectiveness of opinions and the value of numbers on a screen. Take a second, go outside, sit down, watch the sunset, and think about what you’ve done.

Abdul Khaled

Thanks, Jon. I really appreciate your viewpoint here! I wish more people thought that way. I know I didn’t exactly re-enforce my opinion with anything but I wasn’t trying to push buttons. I try to understand things when I can but this one just didn’t click with me and that’s okay.

Dalton Graham

It's fascinating to me that commenters think this is a contest of some kind? That somehow the most likes means the value is the highest on that opinion? Truth is that all opinions 'good' and 'bad' or 'wrong' or 'right' are subjective in this instance, and both (all) worthwhile, whether the crowd agrees or not. So support for Dalton that this album didn't vibe with him, and whether we agree or not, that's his experience regardless. He even has a few people that agree (seeing as you're counting).

Jon Scanlon

AWAKEN MY LOVE

Mark Alan

J cole 2014 forest hill drive!!!!

Koi White

I can’t wait until y’all get a chance to put on a Mac Miller album

Thomas Garcia

album was great! never thought id hear a Phoebe bridgers album I was listening to it driving down the PCH it was beautiful! Connor you should listen to Cleo Sols' album Rose in the Dark . beautiful album I'm sure you'll love it !! I would love to hear your dads opinion on it much love

Freddy

L + ratio

Abdul Khaled

there are actually sooooo many reaction videos of Bo Burnham: Inside on youtube, it would fit right in and maybe even pull in some new viewers/subscribers

spod823

same, same. her lyrics have a way of cutting through to specific feelings, memories, experiences. "i don't forgive you, but please don't hold me to it"... I mean come on, that is heart-wrenching.

spod823

Interesting note (that I'm sure someone has mentioned) -- the title track Punisher is about Elliott Smith. Bridgers grew up a huge fan of Smith, attributes a lot of her style to his music, and they're from the same neighborhood ('hear so many stories of you at the bar', 'And walk right by the house where you lived with Snow White')

spod823

haha! Nice to hear a voice of dissent every now and then.

Jon Scanlon

This album was just as bad as I thought it’d be.

Dalton Graham

What an album! And the mastering of these tracks is truly remarkable. It kinda reminds me of the album Gordi - Reservoir. Same melancholy. Although that one’s a bit more ‘poppy’. Thanks for sharing!

Nathan Mandjes

There's tons of synths on this you guys are crazy! (said with love <3)

Michael Michael (Michael)

I really hope to see Stranger in the Alps soon ❤️‍🔥

Thomas Frittella

this would be great!

riley harrington

Loved the change of pace with y'all doing this album which is one of my favorites from recent years. Somewhat in the same vein as this album (at least to me), would love to see y'all's takes on Orville Peck's "Pony" album. Has some incredible high points & feel like you'd both enjoy if you don't already. Keep it up!

Mat Cook

Awesome reaction!! We gotta see a stranger in the alps vid now!!

WnB Productions

Hi both I hope you’re well, I saw that Connor plans to stream the MBDTF re listen on twitch however being from the UK I doubt I’ll be able to catch it live given the time difference. I don’t suppose you could record whilst streaming and then post the footage on Patreon could you please? No worries if not :)

Aiden Cleary

Maybe have the explanation after the track for added understanding but Connor does a good job during the tracks giving out Great information. If You do it at the start it's more of the greek style theater where they explain the story before the show starts. The people already knew the whole story before listening to the show. It was still cathartic and wasn't one of the reasons why people came to the show. You guys already hit the nail on the head with your format. It's always Great listening and when you upload it's always a nice surprise to bring warmth to a cold winter.

Tobias Åhlander

I love the little update on albums you have been listening too! It's nice to get an update on how the albums have settled with you.

Aiden Woodworth

Never disappointed 😁 give a listen to Time - Angelo De Augustine

free

Haven't even heard of the album, but I'm placing my faith in Connor 🤙

free

I love how open minded and expansive you are with the genres of music. Phoebe Bridgers is new to me but so appreciated. Her music is touching. I have loved every video you guys have done. By far my favorite was the An Evening With Silk Sonic episode you guys did- very groovy. Peace and love ✌🏻❤️

Daisy Bobbitt

This album has become so special to me since it came out. It was my first intro to Phoebe, and since then, I've learned so much about this album, and herself. Connor should show Kevin her SNL performance. Y'all should also definitely do Stranger In The Alps. Kevin would absolutely love Killer.

Shurikinney

pleasseeee do stranger in the alps!

tom finnigan

love this album, discovered it last fall and loved driving around in the fall foliage with this playing in the car. listening to this with headphones on I realized I never listened to the album this way and am hearing so much more in the instrumentation and production. killer album.

Bradford Smith

It always suprises me when i really think the album is real, then at 1.16.30 im like damn wtf.

riley harrington

HI!, Connor do you have a public playlist?

riley harrington

I was very excited to see you do some Pheobe. After watching your Charli XCX video Ive been listening to her pretty regularly so maybe this video will do that for some other people. Keep up the great work!!

Nick P

Connor said in the Daft Punk video that they're doing FHD on the 28th :)

Calediu

Always a Great watch, haven't heard this album so it was fun to experience it for the first time here. Might be too early but J. I. D. is someone who is still on the come up even though he might have over come J. Cole's numbers. I feel like Dicaprio 2 would be the better to start with. The Never story is I guess similar to Kanye's TCD in that it's stripped back on the production and Dicaprio 2 is more like LR in the production and the orchestration. New album dropping any day now. I would love a JID or Cole album or song react. Off da zoinkys

Tobias Åhlander

Y'all should react to a video called "40 years of hip hop" by the hood internet.

JonZam83

Awesome album. Can’t wait for is this it!

Max Martz

He said he listens to Bon Iver

IAmLegend

Loved the ping pong story

IAmLegend

Such a great listen! Definitely recommend checking out Bon Iver. I feel like Kevin would love the instrumentation on their self titled LP

Nick

just want to say it's great to listen to the fans sometimes but remember to do the albums you want to do over everything else, it's how you guys got here

carsonrissotbb

🅿️

Luis

Such a great track

Teddy Merritt

@connor you guys should definitely react to love by kid cudi unreleased song that Kevin would absolute love

Diego Quezada

I audibly screamed while I was at work.

Adrian Vargas

The Dodie reference makes me so happy tbh :’) this and Build a Problem are some of my favorite records in recent years, and I also felt some great similarities between the two!

Janpierre Mojica

In regards to what you guys were discussing at around the 1 hour and 30 minute mark, her ex-boyfriend Marshall Vore is playing the drums on this album and still plays in her band.

Josh H

Hey guys, would be fun if you guys could maybe do a reaction/watch along of Bo Burnhams special: Inside, would maybe be a bit weird for YouTube.. but could be a fun Patreon extra 🤷🏼‍♂️ (if you ever run out of ideas haha)

Abe Raats

i've been waiting for this!!!! one of my favorite albums of all time

Abby Samm

Seeing reaction to "I Know The End" never gets old, insane ending to a record.

yellowflannel

There's so much more lyrical depth to dig in with this album too, makes it very re-playable

This album means so much to me. It’s crazy, the emotional connection I have to this record is so different to others. I damn near cry every time I listen, and I don’t know why. It just speaks to me.
