Helping Hands Chapter 10

Chapter 10 of Helping Hands, in which Harry, Luna, and Ciri investigate the strange vessel they saw crash before them, meeting with a few survivors of it and finding out more about this strange world they've found themselves. As they explore around further, they come across an abandoned chapel, under which lies a being of immense power who raises further questions for them.

1) The flying carpet thing I did mostly because if they had a functioning one there would be no reason for them not to go straight to Baldur's Gate. In universe, one the gods decided to screw with them and keep them on this path. I had Shadowheart be the only one who spoke to them about it because I could believably have her not remember them existing thanks to her partial amnesia. 2) Yeah, the drow are almost dark eldar levels of fucked up. I'm debating whether or not to just kill Minthara. 3) This I legitimately hadn't come across in my reading and oh, man, does it validate Harry's conclusion that the only solution to mindflayers is the dalek one. Lae'zel not knowing that could be because Vlakkith has ensured that they only know what they need to to continue the fight against the Grand Design. Thank you for your feedback. D&D isn't something that I am quite as familiar with as HP and ASOIAF but I am researching and I hope that as the story goes on, I'll become entirely proficient in my knowledge of it.

I feel like you aren’t particularly savvy in D&D lore. 1- There ARE flying carpets in D&D 2- Drow are horrifying. This cannot be overstated. Every drow ate their twin in the womb before being born, kind of like sharks. Therefore, every drow is born a fratricide cannibal, then they go to their equivalent of a kindergarten, in groups of 30. Only 20 will make it out of that place because they’re going to kill each other. Then by the time of their highschool equivalent, only 7 will still be alive, because their society and religion encourages betrayal at the drop of a hat, so don’t forget. Even the equivalent of a drow toddler is already a murderer and a cannibal, and it only gets worse from there. 3- Mindflayers succeeded at conquering the universe at some point in the future and enslaved mankind. Over millions of years, humans evolved into githyanki, threw down their chains and revolted against their masters, successfully destroying their empire and beginning to hunt them. The mindflayers fles back in time, and the githyanki chased them, so from the POV of other races, both mindflayers and githyanki came out of nowhere.

Love how you’re taking on the tropes of an RPG and party-building in this opening chapter!

Fucking awesome, only now caught up. I literally let a 'hell yeah' when I realized last chapter that the next world would be Baldur's Gate 3. Love this series

DarkLightKage

Hahaha what a super exciting start to the BG3 saga! I know nothing of this game so it’s going to be interesting to discover it alongside Harry, Luna and Ciri

TheWateringWizard

This seems like an interesting start to this world which I am told takes place in BG3. I know nothing about that franchise so this will be fun. I do enjoy how you semi nerfed Harry and Luna by limiting how many spells they can cast otherwise they would steamroll this world like the Game of Thrones one and already they have a sizeable party which is good more companions for us to get to know.

Cody

Hell yeah, I love BG3. I can't wait to see what happens here.
