Early June Status Update

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen,
It’s once again time for updates… and the usual round of bad excuses. So let’s dive right in!

First of all, progress has been a bit slower than expected. Two members of our art team are currently on hiatus, I’ve been busy chasing after my new whelp half the time, and we suffered some data loss on Susan’s scenes... but hey, nothing we can’t handle!

In fact, there are still quite a few things I can show you that have been completed over the last three weeks. Today, I want to talk a bit about the new scenes and the changes coming to combat.

Writing and Images:

The focus these past weeks has been on wrapping up exploration events, Skill-Ups, growth scenes, and a few of the date events. Our main story file now boasts 11.5k lines—and it’s still growing.

As with the earlier exploration events, most new scenes come with dedicated CGs to bring the action to life. Be it Gina's next stream... ...her date with Phil... ...proving her skills to Enzi...
...or her wits to Xici.
With 11.5k lines and growing, it's needless to say that there will be a lot of content. If we keep on track and finish everything we still have on our to-do list, update 7 will be roughly as big as the last 2-3 updates combined.

Combat:

Feels like a while since we had a proper boss fight. Good thing there is a lot happening on combat this time. A new boss, new enemy types, new skills and a new ally, complete with "Tag In"-Function will expand combat by a lot.
Be ready for Jade to join the fighting crew...
... and face off against the Reapers in the next boss fight.

The little hover-able icon next to the boss’s name is a new quality-of-life feature. It displays the boss’s rotation, allowing you to plan ahead and prepare for dangerous special attacks. I plan to add this to every boss to improve the readability and strategic depth of boss fights. Another QoL improvement is a new quest that allows you to skip the first three alley fights, helping players reach key story beats and quest goals more quickly.

Some features and images are still a work in progress, but overall, combat is coming together nicely.

Villain Arc:

This is where the delays were most noticeable. That said, the entire storyline is now fully converted into code, about half the necessary images are complete, and the first scenes are already implemented.

So, while an early June release didn’t quite work out, a June release for Update 6.2 still looks realistic!
