I am always looking for new ways to see the forest. Hiking to new places or the same place to see what has changed. Some days the forest has remains the same, but the light has shifted. Sometimes the forest remains the same, but I have shifted. Often everything has changed. I experience the same place a new, and both the model and I are seeing the same place as it is for the first time.
That is when I feel the most fulfilled. Little shifts can result in incredible moments, and incredible moments are what we are hoping to capture.
Riley and I turned a corner and for the first time I saw the mossy branches coming towards me, and a perfect little spot of shade during the high noon sun. I often wonder how many spots like this can I hope to find. How will I grow now with this forest out my backdoor. I have not lost my sense of adventure, my longing for life on the road, but in this place I have found a peace I previously found myself chasing.
I know I can not stay here on these 5 acres forever, but the past 5 months have brought me so much in seeing the transitions, that I know perhaps I need not wander as far as I used to to find inspiration.
