Learning a new place is always the hardest. Sometimes I know how things are going to come together others not so much.
The carpet in our new home is one of the things I immediately fell in love with. Florals reminiscent of the Temperance walls, but patterns on a carpet, and light on the floor is not the same as a wall, and its actually easier than I thought to accidentally wash out all of that depending on the point of view I am shooting from.
The window light also changes in color and quality a lot depending on time of day, and how green the tree's outside the window are. So after a bit of a struggle on this indoor shoot in color correcting I eventually decided that these images worked better in Black and White anyway as I could push the contrast to bring back the flowers, and not lose all that detail in the color correction process.
In the end I love how this first shoot came out. And I am looking forward to better learning this space, how to shoot it, and what color profiles work best!
